Hi - this is my first time in the Coffee Shoppe (well, the first time I've ordered anything, anyway. Mine's a double espresso after the day I've had.)

I was offered the job today! woo-hoo!
It's my first decent sized payrise since I converted to MSE-ing, so I am going to put the extra money straight into my savings account - on the theory that I won't miss what I never had.

Good plan Lucie, and congratulations on the new job! I'm doing the same thing. New job started middle of April, so increased April pay but not by a full month's amount. It gave me about £60 on top of previous salary so that went on stuff I wanted/needed (including my slow cooker :D ). From this month onwards I should have about £140 a month more than before, which will be going straight into my savings account...

Like you said, you won't miss it if your pocket isn't used to it!

So glad to hear coffee grounds are useful for something (re, compost!)
I buy quite expensive fair trade coffee grounds. My biggest expenditure but is worth it! I am a true coffee snob!
anyone know any other good uses apart from compost and pin cusions?
I hate washing it al down the sink after use - it seems such a waste....
    :D
I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!

I think you can use coffee grounds as a body scrub.

Coffee is supposed to be good for keeping slugs off plants. I always empty coffee into my watering can which I keep by the back door. A bit complicated this, but we have a water meter so I try to save water. When I run the tap to get hot water it takes ages to get hot so I keep an old plastic bottle which I fill with the cold water and then tip into the watering can with the coffee. Hope that makes sense.
Oh, I need a black coffee, suffering terribly today with the hayfever. It's the Rape seed fields, we're surrounded by them.

Oh yes, it's very invigorating, and smells lovely with some peppermint essential oil in it. :D

I've been lucky because my hayfever has gotten less troublesome each year, this year I've barely even noticed it. I love the smell of oilsee rape fields and can now take a huge sniff without so much as a sniffle afterwards :j

Squeaky and I have talked it over and have decided that, since there have been no new suggestions, we have decided to start start the poll so it crosses two weeks to try not to clash with holidays too much and even as I type Squeaky is beavering away to produce the POLL. It will be brought to you ASAP :) .

Squeaky has now posted the poll at the top of the page.

Not sure where is best to ask, but this seems like a good a place as any - were any of you Old Style MSE'ers stocking up in my local Asda in Wolverhampton on Tuesday night? At the till we were behind a couple with two trolleys full of lots of red and white (smart price) as well as a HUGE sack of potatoes. And when the lady handed over the largest wad of coupons I've ever seen I said to Mr Thrift "She MUST be an old style MSE'er!" :D

So, anyone going to own up to holding up the queue with all those coupons? ;):D
