Are you voting to remain or leave the EU - Poll

For the record, I do not see eye to eye with every remain argument. I don't think slightly lower immigration would be a bad thing. We'd still have sustainable population growth and perhaps be able to manage the services build out better. Someone mentioned, it must be hard to predict what to build when you don't have a firm grasp on how many will come / stay / leave.
But this level of immigration will fade over time as the countries normalise. I mean, Italy is a bit of a basket case in some respects but we don't seem to have a free for all Italian migration to the UK.
Perhaps the one thing that would really tempt me to support the leave campaign is if a leave vote resulted in a proper EU reform and scrapping of the Euro. We could start again with free trade and free movement (which as I say I believe will normalise over time) and not be pursuing the Federal USoE model.0 -
Without wishing to seem pedantic, your question is:Are you voting to remain or leave the EU - Poll
My answer is - Yes, I will be voting.0 -

Remain. Many of the 'problems' we have now are a side-effect of not having had a massive war in Europe for the longest period in history. There's a lot of 'plucky little Britain we can go it alone' rhetoric circulating, but the world has changed hugely - we are now a small island with big ideas (but not enough money).
As for the idea that we could negotiate a deal with all the benefits but none of the costs/downsides, it's supremely naive. 'Hey, France, Germany, you need us so much that you'll give us a better deal than yourselves' - that's going to be humiliating as we knock on the door asking to be let in.
Perhaps with a name like 'paddyrg' you're confusing the UK with Ireland. No "small island with big ideas" we!
Allowing(or not) the UK to enjoy a bespoke EU deal is going to be the least of Germany`s problems when the Eurozone`s 'problem delayed' re. the economies of Greece, Spain, Italy and Portugal come to the fore again. Never ending German enforced austerity is becoming untenable for southern Europeans and they're voting or will vote accordingly. Remain or Leave, the Eurozone is fooked.
Maybe the smart move is to get the hell out of Dodge!“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

I think he had to, the knives would have become so sharp otherwise things would have become difficult.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -

I think the British people will vote for the status quo because they always tend to do so in the end. Whether that's a good decision is a different question altogether.
May be an idea to do some research because there is no such thing as the "status quo" with the EU for the simple reason that the EU is moving down the road of Federalism.
They won't be staying with the "existing state of affairs" (Status Quo)........
Just a small point but quite an important one.0 -
im voting out, but dont want the end of immigration, in fact i haven't seen any out voters who do? Just some control, and some requirements on entry
Again, referencing the Australian model. My brother left the UK to live there about 5 years ago. He had to prove his trade, that he was entering the country with a certain amount of his own money (i think it was about £5k? not sure on that though, but had to prove his bank balance), plus i think his criminal record. It took a while and a lot of questions, but he got there. I dont think there would be any harm if we had something similar
The EU's lack of ability to address economic balance between member states doesnt help either, I would stay if i could see effort made towards harmonization between members states, but other than loans, there isnt any0 -
I think he had to, the knives would have become so sharp otherwise things would have become difficult.
Yes i do think the main reason for him selling out was to not split the party like the tories, because under blair labour became pro EU - but that said it still questions his principles... A rebel until it matters.
Its also a shame for the leave side, as I would say the natural fixation for a labour supporter would be to leave (personal opinion) but your party and leader are saying stay so you may just go with them and the leave side lose a lot of support.
One has to obviously question weather corbyn actually beleives what he says and i sure some labour supporters will certainly have mixed signals at the moment.
Its also highly questionable that he is Pro EU but with the reform caveat - surely any labour supporter can see through this and know the EU cannot be reformed, especially after cameron embarrasingly going over with a begging bowl, getting laughed at, his demands watered down, then their not even legally binding anyway.0 -

There is nothing German enforced about it. You earn your way or you borrow to try to pay your population off. If you choose the latter, you go to the markets and borrow at high rates or you go to the ECB and borrow at lower rates but with certain conditions ("austerity").
Austerity is never a choice. You cannot spend your way out of depression, if this worked, everyone would do it all the time and the world would never have recessions.0 -
I think there are enough polls (and threads) about the referendum.
I'd be more interested in whether anyone has actually changed their mind on how they'd vote since the start of this process.
Of the very few people I talk to about this and, judging by posts here, it looks like the answer's no.
I really don't think the process needed to be so lengthy.
I'd say that my stance (vote leave) has strengthened, if anything – and yes, I agree the process is too lengthy.0
