I got £250 cash back when refixing the mortgage so I've put £80 in each of the pots and kept £10 for me.
Last of the big spenders!
I am doing the pay day money shuffle. We get paid a few days early in Dec so I should have done it before. I don't want to leave it any later before I do it otherwise I'll start spending money I should have put somewhere else.

I've been looking over my numbers and one of my accrual pots (children's extra curricular) is excessive as the elder Gnomeboy has switched activities to one that costs a lot less but I haven't adjusted the monthly contribution to the pot. Consequently, I will have another lump sum of around £150 for each of the pots. I won't transfer it until early Jan as one of the savings accounts has interest due in early Jan too so I will reallocate both amounts at the same time.
Thinking ahead - Feb & March are the Council Tax free months so that will mean extra for the pots.
I have an old Santander account which I am going to set up as a potential account for switching so need to move a couple of direct debits to it and start putting some regular amounts through it.MortgageStart Nov 2012 £310,000

Thank you brizzled; you too.
The over accrual was greater than I realised so there was £260 for each pot plus £19 each from interest on the savings accounts so £279 to each pot.
This means I will need to rethink my goals a bit as I have already met the holiday fund one.MortgageStart Nov 2012 £310,000

NSD today and I've prepared my food to take to work tomorrow so hopefully another NSD.
I've reinstated my £4 per day spending money challenge that I did a couple of months ago. This month is a long month as we get paid a bit earlier in December so I need to keep an eye on my casual spending. I carry over the unspent balance so I can save up for a couple of days if I want something bigger.
(I might have set up a page on a spreadsheet and printed myself a chart to fill in to keep track of where I am with this:o)MortgageStart Nov 2012 £310,000

Sounds like you're having a good start. I've also prepped lunch for my son (and I) to take to school.
Will definitely be an NSD tomorrow.

A NSD for me. I've got everything ready for tomorrow too so hopefully no food spends. I will have to buy a birthday card for my brother but that's it.
The spending challenge is keeping me focussed during the slow days to payday before I can do any more OPing.MortgageStart Nov 2012 £310,000

Yes, had an NSD today.
Forgot I haven't spent any money until now as I've been really busy. :rotfl:

Hi LadyGnome,
Just read your diary and subscribed - the amounts you manage to OP are very impressive.
I use e-savings accounts for things like annual payments, Christmas, holiday etc. I find it easier to separate the money away from the main account and transfer it back when it's needed, otherwise I end up confused and spending it. When I was in setting up an account for my youngest the bank manager told me she had never seen someone with so many e-savings accounts and did I really need them all :rotfl:
Good luck with your 2017 targets!1
