Hi everyone,
Happy birthday LW.
Judi, I hope things go peacefully.
Hilstep, sorry to hear your news.
I didn't get to post yesterday because I went out all day. Just to MK - I needed stuff for my gentle yoga class that starts tomorrow. I managed to kit myself out for £8.60 because of all the vouchers I had. I also went to Ikea and bought some fabric and to a quilt shop where bought - you've guessed it - fabric. I needed it to complete a project but then I made the mistake of looking at their sale stuff and bought a panel for a child's quilt. They're so much faster to make when you start with a panel, so I only do more complicated quilts for close friend's children now.
DD has her neurosurgeon's appointment today but I don't think I will go because she's so much better. When she tells them she walked the Inca Trail last week we think they will discharge her. It seems hardly credible that less than a year ago the surgeon told her he didn't think she'd improve without a major operation. I'm so proud of her determination and perseverence in doing her physio exercises and not giving up.
Have a good day.0 -

Judi I hope today goes well, thinking of you xx
pollyanna Thanks for the varnish info
My signature - I'm not clever enough to come up with things like that by myself, I stole it from a Facebook meme
Happy Birthday LameWolf :bdaycake:
I couldn't get the delivery time I wanted for my shopping, there were only early morning or late night slots left so it's coming tomorrow instead.
We're going out a bit later this morning, dog walking group is at 11am. Scampi enjoys mixing with other dogs now, he's more relaxed when we're out and about. So even though we always meet at least two others on our walks, I'm going to make him wait on wednesday mornings instead of our usual leaving the house as soon as I'm dressed. I want to take him over to the big field more often, now that the weather's better. I'll contact the OSer I met up with a while back and see if she'd like to join us with her dog, hope she doesn't run for the hills when she reads this
I woke up at 2.30am and couldn't get back to sleep for hours. I dozed off for about 30 minutes then woke up again, gave up and got up for a cuppa. I'm tired now and ready for bedThe house is almost back to normal, I just need to find a home for a few things that I don't use very often but are extremely useful when I need them. The stairs and landing still need glossing but as that'll only involve moving one plant and Scampi's bed, I don't think it'll cause too much distruption

Good morning everyone :hello:
I managed a better night's sleep so I feel more alive today although I have a sore throat and have lost my voice so hubby and the girls are delighted :rotfl::rotfl:.
I wanted to wish Judi all the best for today, hope it all goes well and you can give your mum a great send off without any drama.
Hilstep, I was so sorry to read about your cat, they worm their way into your heart don't they.
Happy Birthday Lamewolf, Max sends you a big licky kiss x
I hope your cough goes away JackieO and you can enjoy the rest of your holiday.
I am not sure what I will be making for tea tonight, I have 2 packs of thin frying steak so it will be something with that. Hopefully inspiration will strike before tea time. I also have a load of washing to do. I can see my neighbours towels blowing on the line and I feel very envious. I tumble dry everything as I can't go out the back garden and although it is convenient, you don't get that gorgeous line dried smell.
Well, I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Good morning to everyone,
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to Lamewolf, have a great day, and belated Happy Birthday to hilstep, so sorry to hear of your pet's passing.
Judi, I will be thinking of you today and hope all goes as well as can be expected.
I'm sorry to say that by the time I post I am sure I will forget everyone's news, so I want to wish everyone well and sending positive vibes and hugs where needed.
I went back to work on Monday after what seems like a very long Easter break. However, I am off today as we are currently having a new boiler fitted as the other one just wouldn't work despite all the work they did do to it:eek:
I'm also waiting for the BHF to deliver a dresser we bought on Sunday, so it will be nice to put stuff away after 2 years on the floor:rotfl:
It's a lovely sunny day here, wind is a bit chilly though!, and I have 2 loads of washing on the line, but can't do anymore washing as the water is currently turned off!
I let DD stay off with me today, as its so difficult for her to get to school by bus, and she has plenty of revising to do as she starts her A levels next month. I also have DS and his GF here, and I was hoping for a quiet day:rotfl:
Not sure what to make for dinner, but I have plenty in, so will find some inspiration later.
Have a good day everyone and enjoy the sunshine xx.SPC 11 #4450 -

Happy "day that should not be named!" Sounds a bit Harry Potter like
Judi
Hoping things are dignified and respectful. Hugs.
Hilstep
I am so sorry about your news but he had six years of a good life where he was loved and will be remembered. Rainbow bridge will be more interesting and you gave him so much and vice versa.
I have a parcel to take back for dd and older dd is driving me to slimming club tonight. Looks like a quiet day clearing up the kitchen. putting laundered clothes away and changing the bed.
The fact that my bedroom is full of paint tins does not help my motivation
Hester
How about your MP? You should not be hounded like this.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Hello everyone
Haven't been around for a while as I haven't had much time to spare and not had too much to sayI've popped in and had a read when I could and want to say I am thinking of you today Judi, sending you a (((hug))).
Hilstep that's so sad, poor cat
Happy Birthday LW
Made some Mustard Pickle (Picallili) this morning and have a load on the line. Seem to have spent a massive amount of time generating insurance quotes for DS2 as that's due when he is away next week. I vowed I'd stop doing things for him but it's so time consuming and I have had plenty of practise over the years!... Something I learnt yesterday after driving for over thirty years - you only pay the insurance excess if you claim for your own car. I'd been fretting about the high compulsory excess that was being added to DS2's quotes thinking he'd have to 'find' hundreds of pounds if he caused an accident and damaged someone's car.
DD and her DH are moving early next month, they had hoped to buy but simply haven't saved enough yet. This new place is cheaper and bigger which will help. I've also been looking at van hire as me and DH are helping to move them.
Sun's shining again but I do wish the air would warm up a little more
Have a lovely day all0 -
Morning everybody,
Judi hugs for you & hope your Moms funeral goes as well as it can love.
Hilstep,poor Buddy,I am sorry,
:bdaycake: to Lame Wolf, have a good day and a big woof from Ly1a
Recovering from minding DGS yesterday,we had a lovely trip to the park and he walked all the way up the road. The playground was really busy as it was so nice and he ran round with another little boy.He had an ice cream from the cafe and then we came back.He seems as though he's starting with yet another cold and was a bit clingy later on so we just read stories until he fell asleep.
Got told yesterday by the builders next door that they'd had a phone call to stop work after the electrical and plastering as its been sold. The owner lives in Oz and rents it out so I suppose its just got too much hassle, she has her brother keep an eye on it but she's not had any income from it for months since the flood and her insurance co after the flood are only paying 50% so its not the best investment.
I am going to email our councillor and the Highways dept shortly as nothing has been done with our collapsed road, and I feel like I'm i prison looking at the metal fences 3 ft away from the garden. When I think how lovely and green our view was this time last year it makes meand:mad: as it could have been prevented if our useless council hadnt neglected the blocked grids, drains etc & turned peoples lives upside down.OOh sorry rant over,it just slipped out.
I think I may dig out the window cleaning stuff, lots of little sticky finger marks all over. I have a gammon joint to cook later, and I may finish off the top I was sewing tho not totally happy with it as the neckline is lower than I'd like-looked ok on the pattern.
Take care all xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Good morning everyone. It seems many of you didn't get a good nights sleep. I am in that club too. I woke at 9.30 due to my son not sleeping until 2am 😱😱😱.The cat was meowing for food at 6.30 so I ended up coming downstairs and dozing on the sofa.
My son is very hyperactive and has a sleep disorder. I woke him at 9.30 as I want to really try and help him sort out this issue if I can, and get him sleeping earlier than that. As well as unhealthy for him, it's not good for the family. 💤💤💤💤
Today we are shopping as my daughter turns 18 tomorrow. I will be popping to Costco to get a chocolate fudge cake. Balloons and cards from our local shop. And wrapping the presents I have for her.
I wish I had more washing to do as the sunny breeze is great for line drying. The weather here looks really good.I might hunt around and see what's lurking to put a wash on.
Hilstep sorry to hear about your cat. I have two! One being quite old now. I dread the day. Sounds like yours had a good life with you Enjoy your lunch and reflexology today x
Judi sorry for your loss. Thoughts are with you today.
Hard up Hester you sound very busy. Your daughter must really appreciate the help you are giving.
Happy birthday if it is your birthday today xx
Hugs to anyone else who needs them.
I hope you have a good day whatever you are doing.

Hi all,
Judi - thinking of you and your today xx
Happy Birthday LameWolf - hope your being spoilt X
Hilstep - sorry to hear your news, hope your okay X
No news here really, DD is back and enjoying the luxuries we take for granted, running water, soft beds and a real flushing toilet LOL
She has had an amazing time, and is really glad she did it, but she is glad to be home. She,s off catching up with her mates, and her BF is back from his own travels (5 months around Thailand, Laos etc), so I,m sure we won't see much of either of them for a while
She,s got 2 weeks before returning to work, and she has been offered a promotion, so is a very happy bunny.
Chilli and Nachoes tonight, was going to do rice too, but we,re having curry tomorrow night, so will cook rice then.
Take care all, enjoy the sunshine XNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
