Trying To Concieve

Well how confusing has this cycle been for me, after i said i always have such a predictable cycle!!

om on cd17 now, i usually always O on cd14 but this month i think i O yesterday, bacause of the copious amounts of "fertile" cm

I temped this morning and got a 36.7 c so ill keep temping this month if i remember!

Im totally out next month as Dh is only home for cd 6 and 7. so if im not pg this month i will have to wait til next april (when he is on RnR from iraq - thats if the timing fits into place) otherwise it will be next June!! OMG i never thought of it like that before til now :eek:

How will i cope NOT ttc, its become that much just "the way of life" for me now i do think i will totally MISS not TTC TTC and being an army wife is not good

Good luck to all TTC, I remember going through hopes and dissappointment and we were lucky, it only took 4 months. All the advice here sounds spot on, I did the Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler and found it really help. The first month I charted I fell pregnant.

In fact that reminds me I must now put my copy onto ebay. We are expecting our second and not planning on any more.

Pixie, I know you already know a lot about TTC but wondered if you knew this..

The days between AF and OV can vary but the days between OV and AF is always identical for each woman - it tends to vary between 10-16 days but will ALWAYS be the same for each woman each month. So over the next few months take note of when you OV and then the AF date and you will see a pattern, then you will know your exact AF date.

The time after AF up to OV will vary depending on stress, illness, medication etc. etc. so you can never rely on Ov'ing on a particular date.

Do you notice the signs of OV, some women don't. These are pains/aches in the ovary (either side of abdomen), increased CM, change of CM fluid - it should turn into what they call 'egg white cervical mucus' as it resembles egg whites! Also I notice I feel more confident around OV time, my hair and skin is always better, plus I feel sexier! This is the hormones that are released before OV making me want to reproduce i.e. which is meant to mak me more attractive to males! This all happens to animals too! Also another effect is blood rushing to certain parts of the body

Hi all, I too am ttc, its month 3 now. We're not doing anything except letting mother nature hopefully take its course. I already have an 8 year old son who was conceived pretty much straight away, I was very lucky.
I'm finding this thread very interesting. I didnt know about BBT so will do a bit more reading into this. Anyone know where I can get one of these thermometers from and how much they cost? Thanks in advance!

I too am ttc, I'm on month 3 and trying to let mother nature take its course. Would like more info on BBT as in where do I get one and how much are they. Thanks!

Hey Amanda,

you can get a BBT (Basal Body Thermometer) from most chemists. You can take your temp either orally or vaginally. Doin it vaginally totally grossed me out when i started temping but to be honest orally can vary sooo much depending on if you have been sleeping with your mouth open etc etc. So personally i find vaginally much better, its also easier to see any temp changes this way aswell. You also MUST take your temp at the same time everyday as doing it at different times just messes it all up.

Do you moniter your CM? I thought this was a bit dirty when i first started ttc, but now i even have dh involved, my creamy creamy muck muck he calls it! (!!!!!! and dom have a lot to answer for!!) :rotfl: He often asks "hows your creamy creamy muck muck for makin babies" At least i should be glad that he likes to be that "involved"!

Go by "how sticky is the mucus" gross I no but it works - if it will stick to the ceiling it is best!!!,

Ewww :rotfl: Yeah i did mean to say that you have to temp when you first wake, before getting out of bed or doing anything, even getting up for a wee first messes the whole thing up and it wont give you a true temp. - I got woken by my mobile bleeping with a text and toddled to the bathroom, when i came back into the bedroom i seen the BBT on the bedside table - ooops i forgot lol!:eek:

I dont think ill bother temping any more this cycle ((i loasted a whole 2 days!!)) But i know i have deffo ovulated now so i just have to sit and sit and sit and wait!!:o

Well im having an I NEED a baby day! Its totally all i can think about! maybe its because im cd24 and its not long til af. I dont know but what i do know is its gripping my !!!!!!

Its just not fair, there is a girl in my street with 2 young kids she lets the one year old play on the streat alone whilst she is smoking and chatting to her mates up the road and her baby is screaming in the house. She never has any money and is always borrowing money to by food for the kids!

How is this fair that ppl like her can just pop out kids when she totally cannot cope?! I am desperate for a baby have been ttc for 30 cycles now. We can afford a baby and afford for me not to work. So what is wrong!!! How is this fair??

I totally know what you mean!! I am not usually a jealous or envious person, I think what will be will be but it bugs me that young girls, who probably got pregnant by mistake can pop them out willy nilly. We have been trying for 3 years with 2 losses.......whats right with that??


Anyway.....little rant over Good luck!!
