Lloyds Standing Order - Unplanned Overdraft

Options
Hi,

I have a standing order which is to be completed late this evening with my Lloyds bank account. There will however be insufficient funds to cover it. Can anyone, from experience, please confirm if Lloyds will honour the standing order and convert it into an unplanned overdraft, or whether they will bounce the payment back?

If they would do the latter, would there be a chance I could phone up the bank and request allowing it to enter unplanned overdraft and copping the fees?

I am unable to enter a planned overdraft due to my only recently residing in the UK and my account thus being in its infancy.

Thanks.

They will try to send it on the midnight run, if that fails [which it will if there are insufficient funds] then they will try again at 3.30pm tomorrow afternoon, so if you can get funds in tomorrow, you will be fine.
If that try also fails, they will try again the next working day [Wednesday], if that fails, they will charge you £10 if the SO is more than £10 in value.

To avoid fees just simply amend / cancel the standing order.

I don't understand the question - a standing order payable today would have been attempted this morning and again this afternoon but I don't understand ''this evening'' part.
By now the OP can view his account online - either it shows as going out or it has not (bounced).
