Hello , I have had sky tv since it started but about a year or so ago i was being charged for invoice admin charge as i still paid my bill by debit card and not direct debit so they still send me a paper bill.
This invoice charge for the bill (bit of paper) Was £4 a month , then it went to £3.00 a month and now on latest bill (April) the invoice admin charge has gone down to 50p !! What a joke this is a right con if its only costing 50p now to send me a paper bill they should give me back all my other money they charged in the past. And all becuase I like to pay by debit card (online or on phone) rather than complying to direct debit which i dont want to do. Think its a con how companies charge for a piece of paper with your bill on it , I mean gas, electric, water bills, don't charge for paper bills....... yet!
Anyone else had this Wondering if I can claim back but doubt it.

Why should they backdate the price reduction?
I'm actually surprised they've reduced the fee at all as the idea is to encourage you to migrate to paperless billing which is good for the environment as well as being cheaper for customer and company.
Do you really not trust yourself to keep enough money in your bank account? Direct Debit is the only sensible payment method..0 -
Being ex bankrupt has nothing to do with it I have always paid it via a paper bill as also with all my bills are paper or paperless paid always have been. I won't be the only one for instance lots of pensioners still pay all their household bills ,rents ,council tax by paper bills still.
I will be saving 2.50 a month until june when everyones subs goes up to £2.75 a month more.
So i will be 25p worse off lol So I'm still saving.
Was just suprised how I have paid extra for last 14 month or so, now its 50p for one sheet of paper. Everyone knows paper and postage is all claimed back by companies anyway so why charge for it? Just saying my opinion.
If all utillities and firms put a charge on paper bills that fine 50p but I think 3 or 4 pound is excessive.
With sky you have no option to have paperless billing unless you go dd , I think you should like most my other bills are changed to now so they email me and I pay online with card. Hence have no paper bills for the others now.
I just hear so many stories of people getting charged wrong amounts and things clashing then going over drawn and getting charges which I don't really want . Am also ill now as well so dont work as much only part time.
Cheers anyway .0 -

The move towards universal paperless billing is inexorable and I'm all in favour of it.
If you want to continue to budget the old fashioned way then you'll have to accept paying for it, I'm afraid.Skintboy37 wrote: »Everyone knows paper and postage is all claimed back by companies anyway so why charge for it?0 -
Its not just a piece of paper with your name on it Its a standard charge, BT also does it as far as I know,
If you think that the money covers Rent, electricity, rates, employment, insurance, stationery, wages, computers etc etc etc then its a reasonable charge
If you dont like DD then set up a standard order
You are wasting your money if you multiply it by 12, it all adds up over a yearmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I wouldn't be to sure about not getting a refund, can't hurt to ask.

I realise the link says VirginMedia but it still applies.0 -

Apart from the bit that very clearly does?
"Interestingly the rules also entitle consumers to receive a refund if the charge is deemed to have been excessive and therefore in breach of the rules, although we do not know if this has been tested with an ISP before."0 -

Perhaps the OP can be the one to "test the water"?0 -

?
No testing the water required.
The regulations are very clear a refund is due if excessive charges (more than the actual cost of processing) were made after 2013.
Couldn't be clearer.0 -
If refunds will be made, the MSE journalists of this site should pick up on it.
All I can see for definite is that the price will eventually be reduced by all providers.0
