Please could I go down for £60 until the end of the month please
I will be paid on Monday 30th.
Bit worried this month as I have already been on a weekend away and am going to Benidorm in 2 weeks for a Hen do!
So £60 will be my budget for food & toiletries, I already have enough.. I hope... set aside for my trip.
Thanks, this is my first challenge and everyone is so helpful and friendly. Love this site! :T0 -
£10 spent for the whole of last week for me (on a takeaway with friends, but i'm counting it from the grocery budget), 6 NSDs which I was very happy with.
Got to do a small food shop tonight for the chickens and I need milk, bread, a bit of fruit and vegetable oil. Shopping at Aldi after work.May Grocery Challenge - £34.58/£75

Popped in to update this morning. We shopped at ald! and sainsbs and meal planned over the weekend and seem to be very stocked up. I am conscious that alot of budget has gone already though. Im determined to keep it on track so will be very cheap from here on out, it should be doable as firdge, freezer and cupboards are quite well stocked but still feeling a bit:undecided
We have a road trip to see family Thursday which usually mean lots of service station spending, we bought a whole chicken to make lots of nice filling food as well as other meals for through the week. Ideally we wont stop at services at all.
The main things I am trying that Im hoping will keep me in budget is soups. I guess from being a bit ill, I keep craving/seeing soups in my minds eye. I got the ingredients for a good beef stock and a decent chicken for a chicken stock (couldnt stretch to organic). I just cant be bothered to make it now:rotfl:
I cooked up the canelleni beans last night and the beef stock is done and I will finish making the first batch of soup tonight0 -

£4.50 yesterday to DD for a couple of bits she added to her Ocado order for me. Also £1.49 for salad and a cabbage.
I think the budget might take a bit of a hit this month as DH and I have decided to change our eating habits. We started talking about the fact that he has put on weight but he is getting really hungry at certain points during the day, which led to the realisation that I have spent at least £15 this week on ice cream, chocolate, pastries and biscuits, which then led to the further realisation that for the last 25 years both of us have been eating stuff that we're not that keen on half the time.! We like completely different things, for example, I love stir fry but he thinks it's a waste of time; he loves tomato based pasta sauce but I would never choose to have it; I never have foods that I love because he hates them and I don't buy them just for myself, such as prawns, most fish, goat's cheese, celery; there are things that he likes that I don't think to buy because I don't like them. We have come to the conclusion that this is a ridiculous situation so have come up with a plan. I am going to make things that we haven't had before which I hope we will both like, trying a new dish every week, and hope we can add some mutual likes to the regular meal plan, stick with the few meals we both like, and the rest of the time, we will have different things. I am off to the shops in a while to get some store cupboard basics to make the dishes we like but don't have because the other one doesn't want it. Yesterday I made a chicken casserole for him and I had salmon and salad in a wrap. We BOTH really enjoyed our meal!

£24.58 spent in Lidl yesterday. Got my chickens some fresh vegetables and me some milk and things for my packed lunches at work. Not too bad. I'm at £34.58 for the month so far.
I went to try out the new Lidl by me, instead of Aldi but I didn't like it that much at all, it was all over the place. No order to the aisles, no stock of the vegetables on offer, very disappointing. I'll stick with Aldi in future.May Grocery Challenge - £34.58/£75
