    I cant see cruelty, what I can see is a large dose of home truths. That is the thing about these boards, people do not need to go through the niceties - you ask and you will get told point blank. It is not neccesarily pple trying to be cruel, although that has been known in the past on these boards, i cannot see it here.

    OP if you over mother your son, it is cringeingly offputting for future girlfriends. No they won't like you, and depending on how extreame you are, you could put the girlfriend off your son entirely. for example, a friend of mine - every time her mother in law used to visit, her mother in law used to hold her sons hand and tell him he was still her little boy. My friend found this difficult to deal with, as he was actually a man, and a man was how she needed to view her husband . this constantly being told that the man she knew as her husband was actually a little boy really caused her some issues and they ended up in counselling and ended up splitting up, as she wanted a MAN not a manchild
