SAGA car insurance WARNING

Options
I tried Saga car insurance this year now I am getting older . NEVER NEVER again. Other drivers be warned that their windscreen cover is useless as they cannot get a replacement windshield done in in less than 19days for any car.

I had several large 12 inch cracks across the windscreen after being hit by a stone and expected a quicker response. I complained to Saga that this delay was unacceptable and was told that they only use one repair company and that there were long delays. I asked to speak to a supervisor at Saga and told they would not speak to me as it was not their problem !!

I phoned other major repair companies who will come within 24 hrs, but Saga will only pay £100 towards the cost so my CHEAP Saga quote gave me a cheap useless service and lots of stress. It has cost me more money. Can't wait to go back to my old Insurance company and avoid SAGA at all costs.

Bear in mind that the vast majority of Insurers use the same company for windscreen replacements which is Autoglass. Your new Insurer is also likely to use them...

Not so, the second biggest insurer of them all, Admiral, use National Windscreens; I have found them to be very good.

    Not so!

Maybe in the top 5 (for market share, NOT customer satisfaction where you need to look towards the bottom of the chart to find them!)

    (DL have biggest market share)

Can't believe you got a "cheap" price from them, any more than you'd get a cheap holiday. Don't most insurance companies let you choose the WS installers?

    Not usually.

You usually are required to use the insurers appointed company.

If you insist on using your own choice then the maximum payout is usually heavily limited

Ignoring the fact I said the vast majority and not all Insurers, Admiral seem to use Autoglass now anyway...

Does not surprise me at all.

We would never go with Saga again after a mix up meant we had been driving around un-insured over a weekend.

Like you ,would not be passed to a supervisor until we said we wanted to lodge a complaint.

Ended up getting compensation from them but would rather not have had the stress of it all in the first place.

Admiral ARE the second biggest insurer of cars in the UK; fact. Since when has biggest ever equated to customer satisfaction? I sometimes think people on this board just want a fight.

Ref customer satisfaction, Elephant (an Admiral group company) come in the top ten:

while Saga show as 5th which shows how subjective customer satisfaction is.
