CCJ - I have heard that too somewhere but I have heard so many things I have no idea if it could be true or not. I tracked all my symptoms the month I was pregnant before my MC and I didn't have a cold personally but I have read something about a runny nose being a symptom. You just never know I suppose!
Faith - I believe stress can have an affect on it, last month I OV later than usual according to my OPKs and I had a very stressful month at work so I think it is entirely possible! I am trying to remain calm this month to see if it makes any difference.0 -

Hey everyone hope you all had a lovely weekend!
CCJ- I’ve also heard of cold/flu symptoms being a sign of being pregnant, though I know loads of people get poorly at this time of year as the weather starts to change and get colder so I personally won’t read too much into it if I get it as wouldn’t want to get my hopes up.
Faith- I really think stress can delay it. AF was late for me the cycle before last and couldn’t think why but looking back I had a lot on my plate and think maybe I OV’d later due to being stressed out which in turn caused AF to be late, isn’t it just so much fun being a woman lol
I’m on CD14 today and started doing the CB OPKs on Saturday (based on a 33/34 day cycle). I thought that I normally OV around day 20/21 so I wasn’t really expecting any result on them until later this week, but this morning I had a flashing smiley face and I’m completely thrown by it!
I don’t really know what to do now. It says once you get the flashing one you can start testing more than once a day until you get the peak static smiley face, but I mean how often should you do it? I’m also lost on when we should BD, what if I stay on flashing smiley for another week before peak and we’ve BD too much and used up all the good swimmers! Sorry if thats TMI but I have no one else to talk to about this and I am completely baffled by getting a result already. :undecided

I know it's wonderous lol
I dont use the advance just the normal ones. I normally just get a static one but I find if I test in the am ill get that stupid circle but then get the smiley when I test in the evening (i have never had a positive in the morning only at night very random)First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Can i be added to the Unwell list? Haha. Woke up yesterday all sneezey and this morning full of a cold, my nose won't stop running! Also working from home today due to a broken car, had a bit of lunch and nearly threw it up! Unfortunately I'm on CD6 so don't think it's a sign of pregnancy haha.
Hope everyone else/OH's are feeling better soon.0 -

Faith177, everything I have read regarding OV says that stress delays it.

I have used the CB advanced digital ones a few cycles thanks to getting lots free on the trial! I learnt the following
- You always get a blank circle the first time as it is just setting your base level of hormones. first morning wee.
- You should test with
- As soon as your hormones start to increase you get a flashing smiley (high fertility). BDing every other day during this time is advised although you can do every day, but the % increase of those getting pregnant between every other to everyday is not significant. The recommendation is every other day so that it doesn't become a chore, as ultimately you need to enjoy it for the necessary to happen! There is no such thing as 'good swimmers' so bd away!
- Once you get a flashing smiley you can test more than once a day or at any time of the day. The CB is now looking for the surge in your LH which suggests that ovulation is imminent. Thus surge usually occurs later in the morning/early afternoon so alot of OPK's suggest testing in the afternoon. If you are doing this you need to make sure you don't wee for 4 hours before doing it, otherwise your urine won't be the right concentrate. Personally I carried on with the morning as I drink so much water I go to the toilet every 1-2 hour and there is no way I could wait 4!
- When you get a static smiley BD that night and the next night if possible.
- If you don't get a static smiley after 10 days of flashing it is possible that you have missed the surge, or not ovulated, so they recommend stopping using the sticks.
I've had static smileys with the FMU the first two cycles I used it earlier in the year. However, for my last 2 cycles I have used them again and not got a static this time.
They are expensive sticks so if you did want to go OPK crazy maybe do the CB digital once a day get the cheap ones to do several times a day. Then if you think you have a positive you can double check with a second CB digital stick.0 -
Hi PKK
Thank u so much for the detailed response, really appreciate it!
I got the blank circle the first day on Saturday, then again on Sunday. Yesterday morning I got the flashing smiley, tested again last night & this morning and still flashing.
I’ve read on other forums that the LH surge can sometimes only last an hour or two so it seems like it could be quite tricky to always catch it only testing once or twice a day- but like you say I’m not going to do more testing than that with the CB sticks given the cost!
Will just keep doing them morning and night and see what happens. Not really telling the OH much about them, I’m a bit worried to incase the pressure gets to him if/when I get a static smiley face and we end up not BDing!
Hope everyone is feeling well! x0 -
Thanks ccj, another day at home whilst the cars in the garage. Going to cost about £150 to be fixed, bloody thing has cost so much over the past few months, OH is sick of it and just wants rid, but we wpuld just be going to another 2nd hand car and it's a gamble, that one might be just as bad.
Taking the relaxed approach this month, I'm not using opks and I'm not telling the OH when fertile week is and just enjoy Bding. We had a chat and he was saying it's becoming a bit of a chore when you feel like you have to do it rather than wanting to for fun.0
