Thanks, I am hopeful that it will happen soon. I've also got Rh-Negative blood does anyone know if this makes a difference? I remember someone once telling me that my OH would have to have a compatible blood type?
  • emdoug I'm Rh-Negative and am just having anti-D injection at 30 weeks and then after baby, nothing to worry about :)

  • Sorry Kirtsypoos - I meant to ask you about black cohosh. How/what did it help and how did you take It? I ask because my mother used it for the menopause so I figure it must do something for our girl bits but I'm interested to find out what - I imagine I'll end up giving it a go :)

Hi emdoug same as you starting in January and so far no luck! :)

I'm finding it hard to talk to OH at the moment.. we talk about children, we decided I'd stop contraception but yet I find it really hard talking about TTC sometimes as I think he finds it a lot to take in (as do I but I think i cope with it better!) and I feel like If i talk about ovulating etc im putting him under pressure. I am terrible at talking about things on my mind.. Supose this is why I love this board as can say all the things I don't always say to him.
Whats worse is my OH is bloody lovely and I know he wont actually think any of this..

LavenderBee the way I understand it is it can help with egg maturity and quality. I've heard good things about people with endo and PCOS having success so thought I'd give it a shot. I took it CD1-12 - 120mg per day and then stopped. I ovulated a day or 2 earlier than normal which shocked me and lo and behold we got our BFP 12dpo so although I'd never say that is what made the difference for us, I firmly believe it had a huge effect :)

  • Zeni, I have to agree when it comes to the other half! I don't know about you but firstly, I was amazed at how much I didnt know about how my fertility is (supposed) to work; secondly, turns out hubby knew begger all! In his view we have sex without layers of contraception and I'm instantly pregnant. I've drip fed him information which I think is finally starting to sink in, after 11 months.

Perhaps it isn't that they don't want to know, more just that they don't realise how much there is that they don't know?

When I was at school sex education almost consisted of "if you're alone in a room with a member of the opposite sex one of you will be pregnant and it will ruin your life!". I guess the boys were told the same thing; and I understand why, teen pregnancies were a huge problem. Expect now DH and I are in our 30s and struggling...
  • Thanks kirtsypoos, I think I may need to place an Amazon order! I ovulate early in my cycle according to what my calendar app said it should be, I wonder if it would help... worth a shot!

  • From experience, I can tell you that your OH knowing about this has its downsides too. My hubby likes to understand things and learn about things, which has been lovely in many ways because during our rollercoaster we learnt a lot together during fertility appointments and such. That said, sometimes at 5am when we get up for work, it'd be nice for him not to have an inclination of which 'wee stick' day it may be and shouting questions through the bathroom door. I feel a little like I've lost some sense of 'self' which I know he doesn't mean so I don't comment. But a pee in quiet would be nice haha.

In all seriousness, maybe try to get a book on Amazon and ask the OHs to read it to get a sense of what crazy things our bodies do and such? Don't think they always realise it's not all just fun times.

Cramps have gone but still think AF is on the way, sadly. Hope everyone else is having better luck x
