CD1 today. Late and horrid, full blown nausea with this AF. Why that symptom picks and chooses when it wants to come is beyond me. It got me hopeful this morning at my desk. Sigh. (AF came late morning)

Hope you are feeling less nauseous now Rachy, sorry AF arrived. Fingers crossed for your investigations.

Hope the non SS keeps going well for you athensgeorgia

Fingers crossed for you Zeni :D

I've been driving myself mad today as had a massive temp drop this morning (0.6) to below coverline, and I'm confused by it - googled and some articles say it could be an implantation dip whereas others say implantation dip doesn't exist and it's normal. Need to stop googling!!

Thanks. I feel really proud of myself tbh. I think I've chilled out so much these past couple of months and can only think it's since I passed the MC anniversary.

Definitely need to stop Googling. If you search hard enough you can find exactly what you want to hear for everything. Well with me I can and it only brings me disappointment. I've now learnt my lesson and am trying to avoid it.

Can i ask, do any of you drink while TTC? It's my friends hen do in 2 weeks (My AF is due the next day annoyingly!) and I'm in two minds whether to have a drink or not. Also a month later its her wedding (again the day before AF will be due!) I know theres a bit of mixed guidance but I imagine one or two toasting drinks would be ok..right?

I would absolutely have one or two drinks Zeni. There's definitely no need to give up completely whilst TTC as you may not even have caught! The placenta doesn't form until the sixth week of pregnancy or so anyway so it's highly unlikely any alcohol would pass to any developing foetus. If you give up it just adds to the stress and pressure of TTC...

For what it's worth, during my two week wait (I was very lucky and caught first time) I had decided to cut down to 1-2 units once or twice a week which I did. I had a couple of glasses of wine the day before I got my BFP. I then cut out drinking completely until 12 weeks (not that it was hard going - 4-6 weeks of morning sickness and alcohol was the last thing on my mind!) and since then have been having up to 2 drinks a week again. My mother is a GP and says you need to be drinking a tremendous amount for your baby to end up with foetal alcohol syndrome and a couple of drinks a week is absolutely fine and most guidelines are overly cautious these days. In my book a little of what you fancy in moderation keeps you sane whilst your body is working really hard!

  • I drink while TTC, from the evidence I have read it does no harm, and I like it! There will be plenty of time to abstain after bfp.
Also it is all too easy to make yourself miserable by obsessing about project baby, and keeping some normality in my life (I.e. drinking as normal) is helpful to me.

Hope it's a good hen do, and nice weather for the wedding!
