Hi Easilydistracted
I always think our OH's are not going to feel the way we do, as sexist as that may sound. My OH has been amazing but he just doesn't know how to handle my sadness. He wants to make me happy but knows it's out of his control, which he hates.
I am sure your OH's sperm is fine. I don't think you should worry about that unless any tests confirm otherwise. Definitely don't rely on online information.
I must say that I read something that's a thinker. I read that a man should always release his sperm in the time leading up to ovulation as if it is saved for then, there could be a lot of dead sperm
I am pleased you have mentioned Slimming World as I was going to bring that up. I want to lose weight but I am finding it hard to get motivated and need a kick up the behind. But what if I get pregnant? Is it okay to still do it? I think it's possible as it could be treated as a healthy eating plan and as long as the leader is aware then it should be safe right?0 -
Rachy just delurking to say I know quite a few people doing slimming world whilst pregnant and all is fine :-)Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
Rachy, Yes I know quite a few people who have lost weight while ttc. Obviously not medical advice, but following a balanced diet can only be a good thing, and although you may be eating less presumably it will be more nutrutious. I also know a few people who were ntnp and didn't realise they had caught until after they were at their target weight.
I do quite a bit of running, and am continuing- just not doing anything stupid and am not doing any races. General advice with exercise seems to be just don't increase it dramatically.0 -
Grrrr got mega stomach cramps, hoping it's not the witch! Have had bizarre eating this weekend so hoping it's just a bit of a dodgy tummy.0

Well my OH's comments were pretty bizarre considering that he already has a five year old conceived on first attempt with his ex-wife who also not only has PCOS but a tilted womb. I was relying on him having super sperm :rotfl:
I am pretty logical academic person but this is enough to send me completely lala. I also have a bit of a strange take on things for someone who is TTC as I am in the children's social work field and not particularly worried about having a biological child but really want to be a full time parent. Unfortunately it has been a long battle through the court for him to have a regular and consistent relationship with his LO and I know that battle would make for a difficult and very stressful scenario for adoption and would be the perfect excuse for his ex to stop contact again. I'm not prepared to risk the role of LO in our lives so its not a route I can see us going down (he would also prefer more biological children). Life is so completed sometimes. I am usually quite good at emotional detachment and am mostly managing that on the TTC front (essential for me to do my job properly) but I think I am maybe in denial of my feelings and taking it out on DH subconsciously.
I hope the SW would be a good focus. My friend does it and if you are preg or breastfeeding they just adjust the plan. It sounds super complicated however!
Have had a nice weekend with OH including some DTD, just realised I am away for a couple of nights without him and in Europe just at peak ov time.
Is anyone not doing the cycle monitoring thing and just randomly DTD regularly? Not sure we can keep the pace enough for that!Saving for a deposit. £5440 of £11000 saved so far:j0 -
My DH struggles when I get really down and blame myself for the miscarriages because he doesn't know what else to say other than it isn't and its just chance (which I know but sometimes things just get a bit much). With regard to the "science" behind DTD and timings ect he is on board as he yearns like me to have a baby.
Rachy SW is I think the only recommended healthy eating/diet by dr's whilst PG so would be a good one to do.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

I'm back in if in doubt today please newthrift - a new cycle and a new chance
My OH has been a bit annoying as he started off (and still thinks) that I'm worrying too much because of my age. However, since I started using OPKs (moving over to the cheapies this month after last month's kerfuffle with the digital variety) he's been on board a bit more seriously, and has been on board with dtd at the appropriate times. He did tell me last week that he would be away with work in early October - to which I replied it had better not clash with my fertile period. His suggestion was then that I take a few days off and stay at the hotel with them :rotfl: - wonder what work would make of that!! (we both work for the same company).
Those considering slimming world - I can't imagine that a standard healthy diet will do you any damage at all! Later on in pg, yes, but not at this stage. Good luck with it! I'm just trying to cut out cakes, as I've been doing rather a lot of comfort eating recently, which doesn't exactly do me any good
Fingers crossed for everyone this cycle.0 -
Hi everyone, not sure if it suits everyone's situation but I bought 'taking charge of your fertility' over the weekend. Started reading it yesterday, it's not especially shocking in terms of what it tells you about cervical mucus, temping etc as for me I have googled it all to death, however it was reassuring to read and alot of it was really useful . It more or less says the key way of tracking ovulation is cervical mucus as that is your bodies way of saying do it. It has loads of info about the different types too. I'm going to track my CM this week as I'm due to be ovulating and back it up with OPKs xx0

Just delurking about SW... yes its a good one to do whilst TTC, preg or BFing. they just add a couple of Healthy A & Bs on to make sure you are getting a calcium/fibre boost. I follow it loosely now and have only gained 7lbs in 24 weeks - not that I'm dieting at all but think it helps if you're overweight to stop it spiralling once you're preg xMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0
