Yorkshire Bank a mess

Options
I moved to Yorkshire bank recently for the switching bonus of £150 but the service has been very poor
I did not receive a paying in book or cheque book. So I requested one online and nothing came. So I tried gain and still nothing came. So I requested them by secure message and was told they would be sent. Still nothing came.
So I again requested them and just a paying in book in my name turned up (This is a joint account so cannot pay in my partners cheques I assume with it).
Off I go to the post office as the nearest branch of YB is 30 miles away only to be told I need paying in envelopes and guess what they don't have them I need YB to send them so I have been trying to pay in a cheque for over a month now.
I have just sent a complaint to them but have not had a reply yet (Sent a further request at the weekend but no reply to that either).
Think once I have the £150 I may be moving again as not at all impressed so far.

Have you tried phoning them - they'd probably sort out the issues in a few minutes.

Yes I've always managed to sort out any problem over the phone.

Not the slickest bank on the planet but certainly not a 'mess'.

Exactly mirrors the same problems I have been having since switching.
Need to transfer £1000 out?.......you find out that you need a security token(via snail mail).
Need to deposit some chq's at a PO?.......you find out you need some paying in slips?(via snail mail)........18 days and still waiting!
  • With the cheques, if it's a joint account don't the paying in slips reflect this?

I had teething issues when I switched my joint account last year. I never received a card or had access to online, yet my wife's card and online access was available before it all switched.

I complained and they gave me £50, it all got sorted over the phone and not had any issues with them since.

I find they are very helpful on Twitter too.

Granted you wouldn't be able to discuss personal, sensitive information using Social Media but could be worth reaching out to them.

Now they're no longer part of the National Bank of Australia group I'd imagine they'll start to up their game.
