Persimmon homes experiences

Hi all,
Me and my OH are have applied for part exchange to reserve a new build Persimmon home in Yorkshire. However, though we love the house style, garden, area, we have since read shocking reviews about the company online.
I basically would like to get an idea of what exactly people's experiences have been with Persimmon, good or bad?
I'm always conscious of the fact a lot of people posting online reviews are doing so simply because they have had negative experiences and need to get it off their chest. It would be great to see if there have been positive experiences with Persimmon out there too, or if they just don't exist...
I'd also be interested to see if anyone who bought a new build with a different company has had equally bad experiences, so I know it's not just Persimmon that drop the ball.
Thanks in anticipation!

search for the company on the forums"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

It's probably not what you would like to hear, but whilst most developers have their failings - I am pretty sure Persimmon are generally regarded as the worst of the lot. Most of their houses are timber framed, poorly fitted out and the cost of extras are phenomenal, with very little included as standard.0

What a useless reply.
the Op is not the first and last to ask about this developer and equally lazy not to search the forum first.
Rather than speculating they are poor, you should give facts rather than opinion to which you have no experience of the developer.

I have actually spent two hours scouring the internet and reading negative articles and forum threads, but basically wanted an up-to-date, balanced set of posts to get a better idea.0 -
We have a large persimmon development near us, been building since 2013, the development is full and they are planning move over the next few year, when a house comes up for sale they sell pretty quickly.
Yes people moan but they can't be that bad if they sell them.
We would have gone for persimmon had the plot we wanted been available, but it's a year off and we didn't want to wait0 -

Well done, you can use google:beer:0 -
We brought one off plan and had so many Snags coming up to 200, however to be fair they have fixed most of them within 4 months but they seems to be never ending. We had a three different walls that had a bulge one massive. The house was clearly rushed to meet there deadline which was a shame as the end product clearly was not up to standard, I don't know if I would buy another one from them or not as we have had a mixture of good and bad experiences from them and it's pretty much 50 50.0

We looked at them and then went to a 5* builder instead. Some of the family have recently bought two off persimmon and they seem okay, the wall finishes arent fantastic, but they will do.
It has to be said though, if you can you get more with a charles church (still persimmon group) as standard so although they are a bit more by the time you buy what you need you might find them quite comparable...0 -

I agree.
We have a large persimmon development near us and currently there is 18 months waiting list.
They cannot be that bad, or people are desperately in need of new homes and don't really care of check.
But I think they are pretty good and friendly.
As I inquired about a property etc.0
