Not for a very long time. TBH I think that was Ronald Reagan's economic policy. Which seat did he stand for under the Conservatives again?

FWIW, this is the Conservative economic goal:

I wish it was ELIMINATING the deficit.

I have a concern their chances of doing so by 2020 are goosed.

    Alan Duncan said it best:
Critics of David Cameron's tax arrangements should admit that they hate anyone who has even got a hint of wealth in their life

He warned that if the PM's critics were not careful, "we risk seeing a House of Commons which is stuffed full of low achievers, who hate enterprise, hate people who look after their own family and who know absolutely nothing about the outside world".

Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Ah, I see. I was wondering if you had actually found something wrong he had done rather than something in your imagination.

My wife is involved in Khan's campaign and she says this article doesn't even scratch the surface regarding tory, racist smearing of Khan. Hopefully they are desperate and we have them on the run in London!

'Khan has described the attacks as “desperate”. Yvette Cooper, a former Labour cabinet minister, wrote that “the Goldsmith campaign is increasingly resorting to disgraceful, divisive tactics as the polls show the Tories falling further behind. Zac Goldsmith’s dog-whistle is becoming a racist scream.'

You mean smears like Mr Khan employing the homophobe and misogynist Shueb Salar and indeed following him on Twitter thus meaning he was fully aware of the sort of filth that his aide was posting.

You can judge a man by the company he keeps. I wouldn't feel comfortable in the company of someone that publicly stated that women should be chained in the kitchen and calls them the word for a female dog and likens them to prostitutes. Mr Khan appears to be.

People with ill gotten gains must love the UK class system. We're all too busy frothing over this to pay them any attention.

One thing I don't think has been highlighted following the release of some politicians tax affairs is just how much tax we're all actually paying.

    The Telegraph said about Corbyn

It's a sign of a bloated government when £19k or 25% of a wage is paid on tax and described as 'just'. Of course, they're not finished there - there's VAT, tax to buy a house, corporation tax to pay through higher prices etc

I feel like it's my duty to pay as little tax as possible to try and reduce the size of the state.

Don't forget Employees National Insurance which is not included in the total per your income tax return - NI would have been about £4,500 so direct tax paid by Corbyn was more like "only" 33%.

Are you going to explain which taxes Cameron avoided by declaring all of his income to HMRC or are you going to keep ignoring the question in a silent admission that you are unable to identify any taxes which he avoided? Come on, how much tax did he avoid and how?

Your attempt to smear Khan is way off mark.Every campaign/party attracts such types. I'm not talking about an individual. I'm describing the tory campaign and its message coming from the centre!

My wife who trudges the streets by the way says Mr Khan is very nice chap and deserves to be supported. As a feminist she can smell out male sexism at a 100 paces!

    Interestingly......
'The campaign has also been criticised by those inside the party. Former Tory party chair Baroness Warsi said: “If Sadiq Khan isn’t an acceptable enough Muslim to stand for London mayor, which Muslim is?”

    Yes forgot about that.

Corbyn is part of an organised NI avoidance scheme though by virtue of his age. Corbyn NI dodger.
