They are building a new estate near us on the site of the local hospital which was a poor house in it's early days. Also not too far away is a very expensive estate built on a former mental hospital...not even a new build is safe!!
My first house came to the market because the occupant had died I didn't like the back door rattling in the wind as that was where he was found but some door insulation cured it.0 -
I wish I hadn't read this thread so late last night. I had the first and only nightmare since I've moved in here, and it was based around this topic. It was horrendous. I woke up at 5am terrified . It doesn't even really bother me if someone died here, though it's something I've never actually thought about (until now!). Some part of my brain doesn't like the thought
.
I think when buying a house, it would be best not to ask about it. Much easier not to know.0 -

This thread reminded me of the time I went to look at a customised hearse (Ganada one, painted bright yellow, cherry bomb exhausts). One work colleagues reaction was "Ugh, dead people". I pointed out that it was only in really unfortunate circumstances that people died in hearses (especially when in the load area), and nobody seemed to concerned about ambulances (where it's quite likely that someone has died) being converted into camper vans.
Logic - a way of going wrong with confidence ...0 -

<chuckle> That's true enough...and nobody seemed to concerned about ambulances (where it's quite likely that someone has died) being converted into camper vans.
Not quite the case. I did suggest to SWMBO that we should DIY a camper - and that ambulances were a very good base vehicle. Absolute, non-negotiable instant veto.0 -
