    Hi all

feeling really bad today, must be getting something, hate feeling like this!

still mad that dh was speeding, lets hope it doesnt affect florida getting points on his licence:mad:

ds1/ds2 off to a dig this afternoon, hope they have fun, he has his insulin with him so one of the teachers will supervise it as he does his own injections, all the other kids are having lunch at 11.45, told them this was way too early for ds1 as he gets his insulin just before 1pm, cant change his routine just like that!

also diabetic clinic today, so want to see what his hba1c will be, it was 8 last time which is slightly high, this measures the his overall bloods over a 3 month period for those that dont know:p

also will get a plan from dr on what times/dosage of insulin to do when we are in florida and a letter for the needles etc for the flight.

  • Morning all,

Pink winged -many thanks for the thoughts for ds1 - he only has to get to Holywood, so it isn't too traumatic. I was more worried about him getting on the right bus coming home - but apparently the Belfast and Bangor buses leave from different ends of the school, so I shouldn't (!!!) get a phone call to say he's ended up at Bangor bus station by accident!

Have a busy day today - have to do some shopping for dh, paint some more fence, cull some books, bake for a Scout planning meeting tonight to be held here, iron - and try and fit in a visit to the gym! Might go to aqua aerobics instead. Oh, and get diesel and do some shopping at Tesco. And dh thinks I do nothing all day!

Ds2 is still pretty unhappy at being back at school without ds1 being there as well - hopefully he'll get used to it.

Better go and do something now:

Packed lunches: tuna rolls, lemon/lime jelly in little containers (HM), fruit, squash.
Dinner: Bacon quiche, oven roast potatoes, veg.

    Have a good day everyone.

At w**k but boss isn't in yet. :shhh: So a quick one from me.

DD loves High School. :j Not one person that she has met in the induction days is in any of her classes. But she's a lovely chatty girl so I have no worries there.

frogga I have been doing 200 sit-ups every morning and I haven't been eating between meals at all. So, I'm pleased with my progress this week. How's everyone else doing?
Learning to Save (((hugs))) hope you all feel better soon.
Hester time for some very straight-talking with lodger methinks. Bit of a madam by the sounds of it.
mioliere have a lovely birthday on Friday.
Happy Birthday to Tired Mum's DS.
JackieO hope your left arm hasn't fallen off with all that ironing you were planning to do yesterday.
kyle bad luck with DH being done for speeding. How is his ears today? :D
((((hugs))) to everyone else who posted. I have read them all but my memory is like a sieve at the moment. Too much going on.
chalky I would go to Austria if I were you.

Booked my car in for its MOT next week - hope it passes. _pale_ I would be lost without it.

No idea what's for dinner tonight but probably chicken with something. Lunch today is leftover spag bol from Monday. DS made it and we have had 5 dinner portions and 1 lunch portion from a very small pack of lean mince. :j

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday. xx

    Morning All,

Feel a bit glum today, must be something to do with wine from last night and clouds this morning. Why is it when you wake in the middle of the night everything seems so hard to deal with?

Finally got the coloured walls painted in the bedroom and another coat of white. One more coat to do and then I can get to the woodwork. Chap who lives at the back of us says I should use emulsion paint as the undercoat to the satinwood paint as you get a smoother finish - anyone else heard of that?

OH at home today so movement around house restricted. He was on a conference call this a.m. and I blew my nose -apparently everyone in the meeting laughed!

Went for a 3 mile walk yesterday as a "stretch-out" after my longer field walk the day before. Came back and made the mistake of sitting down. After 10 mins thighs were screaming ! Oh well. And how on earth can I have stretched my tummy muscles walking?

Not a lot else. Hope all feel ok or fight off oncoming infections. Catlovers may like yesterdays dailykitten.com

Forgot to mention earlier that DH has a job interview tonight. His current job is ok but requires some quite heavy lifting which he struggles with because of his back so the new job is much lighter work so fingers crossed for him!;)

DS2 has gone back to school today for his last year(year 11) am not looking forward to this year at all, I remember how stressful it was trying to get DS1 to revise:rolleyes: I had to spens 20 mins straightening his hair this morningbefore he went, not sure how he'll manage next week when I'm away for the week!:D

Kyle - sorry you're still not feeling too well xxx

Anniebooklover - sounds like you're doing well on the diet!:T

    catch you later xx

  • Morning everyone

DD went back to school this morning, and I'm currently at work  Managed to stick a load in the WM this morning, and sling a chicken casserole in the slow cooker, so just got to do mashed spuds when I get home and tea will be sorted :D

I've finally managed to get the hang of knit 1 purl 1 etc etc - so I'm really pleased I persevered - thanks Mioliere for the encouragement :A I'm going full steam ahead now and I'm doing my mock rib garter square tonight - maybe I will have my throw done my Christmas

Anyway I better go and do some work (it's what I get paid for ;) ).

    Have a great day everyone.
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Kyle - hope you are not getting the bug! sounds rotten! DD had that one over the weekend.

Dinner - curried leftover pork from roast

The veg box has just been delivered and I have an aubergine, lettuce, carrots, onions, spuds, apples, pears and plums to use up.

I am keeping a diary of how I use up the leftovers and bits that need using before they go bad and

todays leftovers to use list is:-
3 fresh courgettes (from last weeks box)- either freeze in slices or make courgette and tomato bake

bowl of cooked courgettes - turn into veg soup

large bag apples - (they keep for ages in lakelands green bags in the fridge but I now have too many!) cook and freeze ready for pies or make into chutney.

3 pears (from last week) freeze for fruit salads or cook in leftover mulled wine in the slow cooker

tomatoes - skin, slice and freeze for topping pizzas

leftover roast pork - making into tonights curry

    leftover pasta - todays lunch

leftover bolognaise - todays lunch and rest will be frozen

potato peeling from organic potatoes - scrub and coat lightly in olive oil and oven bake to make a few hm crisps to serve with a healthy dip as a starter

Right the puppy has gone very quiet so off to check armed with my trusty dettox and kitchen towel!

    have a great day!

    Catz x

Edited to say Ahhh! She's asleep! On the washing pile though!
