Morning
Hester - sounds like the lodger is the type to put upon people okay - unfortunately you are first in the line of fire - as she is living with you! Hope shes not due to be around for long. Some lodgers can think that the world revolves round them - bit like people as a whole methinks!
Talking of people thinking world revolves round them - hi Amie399 - yes, I am watching "Dumped" each night. Obviously set up to make "good tv" - as expected - but worth watching for all that. All human life and its foibles showing up - the self-centred, the bully, the organiser, the reformed character (ie the model). Helps to show the responses in microcosm of society at large that things are going "to go down the pan" pretty soon now unless we all start pulling together about it - and what the different responses are likely to be (including the ones who just want to shut their eyes - and buy new pants and socks every day).0 -

The sun has got his hat on in Hastings Too!:j :j :j
I went back to work yesterday. You should see what I've got! They didn't know what hit 'em, me and my assistant soon showed 'em who's boss:eek:
Last year they had an NQT, and I think she was frightened of a lot of them (mainly the boys) so there's a lot of licking into shape this year:rotfl:
DS is still asleep, he's started College, bt doesn't have to be there till 11 today. Better wake him when I leave tho, or he'l still be there at lunchtime!:rotfl:
Anyway (((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) to anyone who needs it, and :bdaycake: if it's anyone's today!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning all!
AMIE - I think I've mentioned my DH snoring before. It doesn't bother me - in fact, luckily for him, I find it quite comforting but he stops breathing a lot during the night and I poke him to 'rev' him up again. I buy him the Breathe Right Nasal strips which really do help. They're the horrendous price of £6.99 for ten here in the UK or, on eBay, £25 (inc postage) for 114.
N9EAV - I must admit, I can't understand why all the schools can't synchronise. It must be a nightmare when you've got two, three or more children who all have to be at different schools at different times. I think we should follow the American way and have a school bus that picks up and drops off all the children almost from door to door. It would make sure every one got to school on time and it would reduce the congestion on the roads.
HESTER - you need some more ground rules for your lodger. How long is she with you? Sounds like she thinks you are a substitute mum - she'll be driving you really mad by the end of the week!
Well, I had a lovely carbonara at DS2's and his GF's last night plus some birthday cards and pressies for my birthday on Friday (when I'll be in France). I made a fresh fruit salad for pudding and took some cream with me and also a jar of Catznine's Aunty Beryl's chutney that I made on Sunday. Had a lovely afternoon with DGS who managed to beat me at all the games we played.
DGD starts school tomorrow and the class teacher and assistant have visited her at home. This is the first time I've heard of anything like this. It didn't happen when DGS started three years ago but apparently it's standard now. I was a bit stunned when DIL told me. All the mums had advance warning so, if they wanted to present a false impression, it would be easy to do. I don't understand the reasoning behind it. Are they expecting teachers to be social workers? I would have thought they had enough to do with teaching and all the paperwork that is expected of them. And even if they found an unhappy situation, would anyone do anything about it? You hear such awful things these days even when all the agencies such as social services, police, etc. have been involved.Things have changed so much since my two were at school. I'd be interested to find out if it happens in other parts of the country. DIL said the teachers who visited her couldn't get a word in edgeways because DGD is such a chatterbox and insisted on showing them all her toys, her little veg patch and her monster sunflower!
Well, I'm off tomorrow so I must get on with cleaning the house, packing, booking a taxi to the airport (only local luckily); DIL was going to give me a lift but it's too soon after she takes the children to school and I don't want her to rush them into class and then have to worry about rush hour traffic. I need to do some last minute shopping and, also, fit in a last visit to Curves - it'll be nearly two weeks before I can go again and I shall miss it. I shall also miss coming on here - I've been able to really enjoy because I've been on my own here.
Well, must go and get a wiggle on or I'll never get anything done. Will call in later - have a great day and (((hugs))) to everyone in need.

JocketUk, I'm a train conductor, I know who was on strike, but the tube was shut down. I can sympathize with your DH as I have been in that postition when the signallers threatened to go on strike not too long ago.0
