It looks nothing like the gov.uk site.

The reason so many people sign up to it is quite simply because there are lot of people who can't be bothered to give websites even a cursory glance before committing themselves to a service.

Some of those Trustpilot review are quite frankly written by morons.
This company redirects you to their site via the gov.uk website so that you still think you're on the gov.uk website

    Nope.Just nope.

There's a reason they call it the stupidity tax.

(and no, it looks nothing like the .gov website.)

the reviews are hilarious and people obviously not gone back to look at the site again and see all the stuff they missed, before posting absolute tosh and making themselves look very stupid....and admitting you don't check your bank statements for a year (that must be an MSE sin)

We have all made mistakes but when we decide to skim read, click the button but not read the t&cs or do any research...it is only really good luck when everything goes as planned...if it doesn't then just need to look in the mirror to point the blame (and I have done!)

Their likely customer base that may be unaware that the DVLA would have a .gov website, may be unaware that it is free....and they will also pick up the 'lazy & careless'
yes there is reference to DVLA on the site - appears in this sentence is not affiliated with the DVLA
Some people should not really be allowed on the internet unaccompanied

Having used the free government website before I was a bit annoyed to find I had to pay 50p in July. I thought no more of it until I noticed in October that £5.95 had gone to vehicleinformation.uk who I'd never heard of. I looked back at statements and found it had gone out every month since July starting with a 50p payment.

I did nothing more than check an MOT date, could find no email receipt or confirmation so no contact details. I've cancelled the payments and going through my card company to get my money back as I wouldn't knowingly have signed up for a monthly subscription. I have no idea what I'm meant to be paying for.

I know what the government site looks like and this appeared exactly the same whatever some may think. If someone can provide a phone number or email address for them I'd be very grateful as my card company want me to try to resolve it before claiming it for me.

Well unless you cancelled it before payments were taken then your card company can not claim the previous debits back.

As to contacting the company. The details will be on their website, which you used.

So you went to check an MOT date and entered your payment details?

Why would you use that website though ?

Why not use the government one ?

Or google "when is my MOT due" and select the .gov link.

Funny, but any Government website has a URL of .gov.uk

And if that is the site you used in the link above. It is nothing like the DVLA check site...
