virgin media could cause mortgage offer to be withdrawn????

    Depends what the email said: If it just said (eg) "I am moving from 23 Railway Cuttings, Cheam on 01/04/2016 to 63 Acacia Avenue, Surbiton" they might have (understandable) thought you wanted the contract moved to 63 Acacia Avenue:

    However if it said (eg) "I am moving from 23 Railway Cuttings, Cheam on 01/04/2016 to 63 Acacia Avenue, Surbiton but will not take up residence until a date in the future so please cease the service at Railway Cutting, suspend my contract with you until I let you know, in writing" you should be in a better position.

    So, I repeat,
    ...Could you kindly quote the EXACT wording of your email or letter to them the please?? (No names or addresses..) so we may best advise you for your next step. ...

    Can't stand beardie and all his works but have always found VM reasonably competent on admin & a d*mn fast internet service via. cable.

    no i cancelled the contract from my previous property. this was confirmed as i received a final bill.

    the email did not say anything like that at all. i am certain emails i sent didnt even come close to agreeing anything.

    on the phone i did not agree anything either, just gave my new address to see if they had services there, the woman i spoke to offered me a deal to which i did not agree. i certainly did not agree anything on the phone either.

    I believe solicitors routinely do a bankruptcy check just prior to completion. Some lenders may do a further credit check, but this is not always done, and even if it is, as others have said do not worry as it's unlikely Virgin Media would have needed to do a credit check being an existing customer. Even if they did do one, it's highly unlikely this would negatively impact you. You have a very plausible explanation for it, nonetheless, so you could speak to the underwriters if necessary to explain it. Don't stress yourself out over could's and maybe's.

    thanks so given the replies it looks like i have nothing toworry about. i really hope so. this just shows how bad the people a virgin media are. terrible terrible company.

    I think they are a company that actually sells a product which works exactly like advertised - at a reasonable price for loyalty.

    Of course you could go to TalkTalk instead...

    I'm not buying your side of the story, I'm sure Virgin's wouldn't be reflective.

    they are known for very bad customer service. in fact so bad its simply just a waste of time calling them. i agree their product does what it says. but customer service is as important and given all the people who have incorrectly has bad credit reports due to them, its surely a company you do not want to have any business with isnt it?

    Never had an issue.

    Been with them since telewest days.

    Odd credit rating error or a completely hacked customer database...hmmm...every company has issues. Speculative threads about coulda woulda shoulda are an example of the most unlikely becoming a possibility.

    How on earth have you gone from having an unwanted direct debit for, what, £20 a month; to your mortgage offer being withdrawn?

    Its unlikely they even would do another credit check, let alone change their minds over that.
