virgin media could cause mortgage offer to be withdrawn????

I think what economic is trying to say is that he's worried virgin media may have done a credit check which may now affect his application before he completes, especially if the bank does a final check before releasing the funds.0

I think someone needs to take a chill pill, personally. I would be astounded if (assuming the mortgage company even DID re-check) that a single CRA search on your file from a TV company would cause a mortgage offer to be withdrawn.0

If it was a credit check for a loan, then I'd worry. But for a tv company which you had in the past, don't worry at all.0

Whilst the general advice is no new credit before completion you're being a drama queen.
You were an existing customer so they had no reason to credit check you. And if the DD is cancelled there is little they can do.
I'll wager it's just a case of human error.0 -

Yes, can anyone cite any incidences of lenders being concerned about a customer (whom they already know is moving house) arranging their telecoms/other utilities for moving into their new house? It would seem a rather bizarre decision if they did.0 -
hi
im getting really worried as i complete in a couple of days (have exchanged already). Virgin media who i was with in my previous property decided without my permission or me signing anything to start a new contract for broadband for my new place which hasnt completed yet. they send texts and emals about the new contract and that they will install it next week and even a new direct debit on my bank account (which i cancelled)!!! i am furious and am wondering if this will affect my mortgage offer as i heard they do a final credit check?
Obviously this is not my fault at all and...... ....
Could you kindly quote the EXACT wording of your email or letter to them the please?? (No names or addresses..) so we may best advise you for your next step. You did put things in writing, obviously:0 -

you mean compensation from vigin media for the vast amount of money i may lose if the offer is withdrawn?
all it was was a couple of phone calls and emails about a price for new contract but no way did i agree anything verbally or in writing at all. one of the emails i sent said that i no way agreed to having anything installed etc.0 -
Again - you will be fine. A single credit check (even if one was performed) from a TV Company will not cause your mortgage offer to be withdrawn. Calm down.0
