Good evening everyone,
Talking of unwanted callers at the door, the other evening I had a knock at the door at about the time DH was due home, and the knock was exactly how DH knocks, so I went to answer the door. However, when I opened the door, I screamed as it wasn't DH but a BHF guy! He must have thought I was mad, anyway he didn't hang about, so maybe that's another way to get rid of them!
I hope everyone has had a good day, hugs to everyone.
Today I've cleaned the house, and done the shopping, Just waiting for DH to home come plus will have to go and pick up DD and DS from their respective jobs soon.
Have a good evening everyone.SPC 11 #4450 -
POLLYANNA I came on to give you an update on the spiralizer and have just read through all the posts about chuggers. I can't believe such aggressive behaviour! We must be lucky around here as we get them very seldom, thank goodness. I do support various charities but, by far and away, the worst for hassling me to increase my monthly payment was the Red Cross. Their phone calls came almost weekly and became almost demanding, making me feel guilty for refusing. This all stopped, however, after the old lady threw herself off the Clifton suspension bridge and charities were warned to stop all the begging letters and phone calls, driving people to such lengths. I assumed all charities were heeding this warning but obviously not.
Anyway POLLYANNA, back to the business of the spiralizer! I finally got round to testing it today and with mixed results! Carrots were very hit and miss and came through grated, rather than spiralised. Then I moved on to courgettes with great success. Long strands just like spaghetti! I fried them, as suggested, for 2 minutes and then stirred in a small amount of red pepper sauce. I had them with a piece of chicken and some salad and really enjoyed them! So mixed success with it so far! xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Thanks Elona It would have had me racking my brain all night .
TA Thanks for the info on the spiraliser . I did wonder about carrots as another poster mentioned problems with them . In os fashion I am wondering how my Kenwood chef would do . It's one of the older very heavy models and it seems much sought after nowadays . It has all the attachments including slicers , shredders and graters . It's boxed away at the moment until all the work on the house is done but I think I'll try it when it can come back to the kitchen - doubt it will do courgetti but there's only so many courgettes I could eat .
Hope mr TA is well .
Gers I hope you're back now .

There but for fortune go you and I.0
