Why, she's resigned and marking time until exit.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
Thank you again for all your responses, i really appreciate it.
Just seeing all the different responses to this situation makes me realise that there is probably no way of predicting which way this will go next week.
As much as i don't want to go in tomorrow, i will do at lunchtime, giving the morning for the MD to have a think about what he wants to do. We know that he will ask my colleague for her opinion in the morning, in which she says she will tell him hes been out of order - she and 3 others had witnessed the whole fiasco and his office door was open the whole time.
I am hoping he will negotiate a shorter notice period and maybe I can do some of it from home, out of his way.
The chances of him suing is hopefully very slim as he did not bother doing anything to the 2 colleagues that walked out and did not do their 3 month period in December.
I'm not worried about a reference as my colleague who is on the same level as me (been there 6 years) is more than happy to write a great reference as the MD has a rule that he never writes references.
Should i open up the dialogue first? Or should i wait for him to consider?
Or if he fires me (i have done nothing wrong), am i likely to get the months pay in lieu? or is that wishful thinking?
Many thanks0 -

I was under the impression you had resigned.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
Sorry, i have. Of course he cant fire me as I've already resigned. I'm clearly not thinking straight please ignore that question.0

By swanning in at lunchtime - what message are you giving ?
(Genuine question as the dynamics in this office don't sound anything like the norm)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
If you need the 3 months salary whilst you find a new job, then personally I'd go in at your normal start time.0

Hes had all weekend to think about his actions (if he wanted to, he doesn't sound like the kind of person that will take too much time to think about it!)
Much better to be the better person and arrive on time, early if possible.0 -
Just an update on this. I went in 45 minutes early this morning as suggested. When the MD came in. he just ignored me. His secretary (also his wife) also pretty much ignored me. My colleagues were sending me private messages saying how uncomfortable the environment was. His wife handed me some production documents (we all get this), as she walked away i dropped this by mistake as it was heavily than i thought and it literally slipped out of my hand. as i was bending down to pick it all up, she told me off 'for slamming things around'. I guess from this, I can do no right from now on.
I typed up the whole incident of what happened last Friday with dates and times including the lead up to the incident, and how this has negatively affected me.I had typed up a proposal of: working from home this week, an earlier finish date (almost 2 months instead of 3) to finish off all my current projects to hand, and have left it open to if the MD would like to discuss an alternative suggestion then to call or email me. I then left after telling colleagues why I am leaving early (but they all said they dont blame me and i looked terrible).
Hopefully he will come up with something or even better, just let me go.0 -

I'd just mention a job with a competitor and how much interest they took in the interview at having someone with a good knowledge of clients.
Garden leave must follow if they have any sense.0 -
If this ever gers to an employment tribunal things like going home early without permission would not look good. As others have suggested it's best to stick it out.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
