Cameron is spending £9 million of our money to tel every household to vote to stay in the EU.
Should he actually be sending out a balanced un-biased explanation of the situation and the possibilities instead of trying to brainwash us?

Even though I am an "in" believer, I accept that tax payers money should either not be spent or spent equally. But I don't know any more about this £9m, if it was private donations or tax payers money and if the material presented was indeed propaganda or just facts.0 -
Has anyone got a link to the letter/leaflet?Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0

I had a quick squizz and I can't see anything that is factually incorrect in it. The UK Government has a position and that position is laid out in this document. If someone doesn't like what the Government has to say they should vote for a different representative next time.0 -
I thought I'd have a quick antrobus, in order to answer the obvious question, and here is the result;
There are precedents for a mailing such as this from the Scottish referendum - and the earlier EU referendum in 1975, when the Government sent a similar document to all households.

Where's the propaganda?
thus speaks some-one who argues that a decline of 25% of UK trade with the EU is a positive endorsement of staying a member of the EU (1999 to 2019 projected).0 -
What if the govt spent £9m on a party political issue 'Why we are right to cut tax credits' 3 months before a general election - would that be reasonable?I think....0

The EU Referendum Act 2015 requires the Government to provide public information on EU membership ahead of the referendum on a number of issues.
They're doing exactly what they are legally obligated to do.
And as the official position of the UK Government is that it is in the National Interest of the UK to remain in the EU then that is the opinion being presented.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
-- President John F. Kennedy”0 -
It looks like the leave campaign doesn't want an informed electorate.
I wonder why... :think:Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0
