Thursday 7th April - what small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Morning all :hello: frugal friends
another early start as DD was up early. Allows me to get a head start on the day. My Thursday will mainly look like this:
Meals from stores
Check banking, update spreadsheet, check surveys and FPL. Pad later, even if balance hasn't changed
Call mortgage people
Do one thing off April/annoying things list
Cancel mobile account if I get pac code.
Cancel boiler cover if I can and take out new policy, saving £130 a year
Quick fly lady of bathroom
Work from home, so no commute
Pop to shop for some paint sample cards
Think that's about all, have a good day PF

Morning All
PF wasn't that kind of your DD knowing you needed an early start
good luck with your list today. Glad you had a nice day with your bf yesterday.
Small things for me
1. Walk all journies. Roughly 2 hours of walking today to do after mapping all errands. Free fitness too then.
2. Putting away our easter things..boxing them clearly will save money next year looking for things.
3. Making dinner around what is in the fridge. Possibly stuffed peppers and salad tonight.
4. The heating is off and it is noticeably cooler in the house but we are wearing warmer clothing and looking forward to the next energy bill
5. Manage a PAD. Did a late one of just £5 last night but it all counts.
Have a good day everyone.
Ziggy hope you are feeling better & Foxgloves glad you feel better about your car. We had the clutch go on our ancient car when I'd driven to Essex for the day. By the time we factored in the AA recovery fees and the repair it wasn't worth it. So we scrapped it. But I was sad as that Mazda was a great car. Not like the Audi that we bought next that leaked oil from day one and we lost the £1600 we'd paid for it." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Morning frugalistas
Thanks for all the birthday love yesterday.
Had a lovely day - the cupcakes went down well at work. Everyone thought it was great that I made my own - no one suspected I did it because I was skint :rotfl:
I'll probably check back later but here's a wee start to get me motivated...
Cocoa chia pudding brekkie :A
Packed lunch for work
HM pizza for tea
Sort YNAB - track inflows from yesterday and yesterday's spends
Should be no spends today
Printing stuff at work
Put a cheque in the bank if I can face the walk in the rain...
Working hard - there was chat about there maybe being no bonus this year  Trying not to think about this 'worst case scenario'...I was expecting around £4k.
Take care my lovelies.

Hi Ally

All
Good day planned...and the sun is peeking through. Hooray!
So what have I done:
- reconciled YNAB and done a TT
- signed up to Bounts to earn vouchers for exercise :j - may get kids to do same, as can sign up if you're over 13... One of this weeks tips in the MSE email

Morning all

Thanks for starting the thread PF
Cold and windy here again today, and rain forecast
Heating is off, though I expect we will light the wood stove later. OH turned it on as he was cold - off again now though as the stove is lit
Spendy day today as my car needs new tyres  At least 2, maybe more. OH has offered to take it and get it done, which suits me as I find anything car related really boring
I shouldn't moan, as I have had it for about 7 years and not had to spend much on it in the greater scheme of things. We really ought to do something about our car situation as we still have 2
and to be honest they don't get used much now that we no longer have to get to work. Mine is the 'sensible' one, a small hatchback that doesn't use much fuel. OH's on the other hand is a bloomin great pickup truck thing, (mid life crisis if ever I saw one :rotfl:) which was handy when we were doing up our house, and for moving, and he uses it to get firewood etc, but really doesn't need it now (firewood can be delivered). But he says he doesn't want to get rid of it, as it wouldn't be worth much now.... guess he just likes it, but it would certainly save money if we didn't have to run it! Didn't get tyres as the queues were too long at the tyre place, for some reason, so he is going to try again next week. Apparently Tuesdays and Wednesdays are less busy. OH and neighbour did establish that only 2 tyres are needed though, so that is a good thing.
Other than that:
Dog walks x 2 We did one each!
Pay in cheque if there is a dry half hour to walk down to the bank STILL not done this
HM meals from stores Done
Make a loaf in the BM Done
Any surveys, FPL etc A few for onepoll and one for Pinecone - don't get those very often. It was very boring but at least I will get paid £4 :T
Do some housework, but no decluttering or gardening planned for today Not really done any of this
Need to start the stocktaking for my business  I sell antiques /vintage items / junk and I have loads of it, in the eaves cupboard in the loft, and in the garage, as well as in my sales unit, including hundreds of little bits - so wish me luck! Spent most of the day doing this, and I am only about a third of the way through
Better make a start - hope you all have a good day

I just typed out a lovely long reply and then went and lost it  Never mind - after yesterday's positive day I'm hoping for more of the same today. Thanks for the start PF
It's another grey day here - I'm undecided whether or not to go out for a walk later with the kids. I've gotten a bit more keen on walking since the arrival of the Fitbit - mainly because I'm embarrassed at how lazy I actually am.
Anyway - today's list
check banking and PAD
aim for 7000 steps
aim for nsd (which will be tough if I need to go into town)
pay cheque into bank (see above)
collect present ordered online
look into a walkabout for me and the kids
make something with the chicken I got out of the freezer yesterday
update YNAB
Do some more crochet
relax and be kind to myself and others around me
Have a good day everyone :wave:Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi April Awesome-ees,
Just a wee list today. I'm all recovered but trying not to overdo it.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Month Eleven (Come Tomorrow):
* OH and I will be re-felting the hut/shed roof this morning using £16.50 of felt from Homebase. OH thinks we can re-use the nails from the old felt.
* Checked online banking.
* Checked payslip for tomorrow. Slightly more than I was expecting. Had a £10 Income Tax refund.
What about you folks?

Morning all
I'm hoping for a NSD today although I have got to go into town as DS has got a dental appointment.
Looks like I'm going to have to use the TD as it is torrential rain here. I'm hoping it's going to go off a bit as I haven't walked the dog yet.
Try and do 7000 steps for my Bounts points.
Ring shopandscan as I haven't been able to use it since my laptop updated to Windows 10.
Swagbucks, lucky phone, etc.
Have a good day all
