Morning All,
Today's Adventures;
Check banking - Cheque for £440 has cleared. Ready to pay of booked holiday in August. Which will leave under £500 to pay, maybe least not got paperwork to hand. Will leave to pay unti next week probably when I'm actually in town, rather than paying £10 in taxi fares & non-essential spending.
Made a £10 payment on a buy now pay later deal. £10 each week & it be paid off before date (although once holiday paid I'll most likely just pay that off out the way)
Made a use it up box today in the kitchen. Today we had coconut with our wheat a bix haha will be more randomness this week I expect.
Try and get a lift to work to save at least one journey of expensive taxi fare. No time this evening to go walk or get bus
Smile & be happy at work (as always) to earn a few £'ssss for savings jar, not sure what that pot for though :-D
Sorted & gutted 6 kitchen Cuboards. Sides are a mess but it's a project in the making
3 carrier bags ready for charity shop (for when next passing)
Sold old peppa pig toys for £10. Need to list a few more in selling pages.
Started reading up cycling guide. I have two nice solid wooden living room furniture. But wreked by little one. Also like a more retro/warm feeling. So start researching ready for some upcoming house projects at minimum costs.
Must attempt to put some washing away... I hate that job. Never ending.
All meals from stock today
Right that's all I can think off for now (most of it done already) so I'm going to try & sort a few more bits before work. Oh and get dressed, me and the girls so far having a lazy pj day :-)

Afternoon all.. though technically my morning:o.. Finished work in the early hours of this morning and woke up a couple of hours ago. My DFW tasks for the (remainder of the) day:
List a book on Amazon
Audit my toiletries lol - previously I would just go and but what toiletries I wanted as well as needed.. No more, going to see what I have and then buy only the essentials tmrw
Have already declared my unintentional NSD:j
Look at meal ideas for my packed lunches for work - not a huge fan of bread and want to find easy non-bread alternatives
Shopping tmrw so make a list
Chk my banking - only £15 left till payday in my account and want to make sure no unexpected DD/payments etc
Give myself a home manicure
Netflix a movie (previously would have downloaded from Itnes - have spent an absolute fortune on my little library
It's funny before all this if I didn't have my wallet/money on me when I was leaving the house, I would feel like I was missing something, not completely ready for leaving as in have keys, have mobile phone etc. Yesterday, I accidentally left my wallet at home and nothing.... no anxiety... no having to drive back... and didn't miss it once. Might make this a habit lol.
Hope everyone has a good day:)Debt outstanding [STRIKE]£3491.[/STRIKE] £3303

Afternoon all

Had a fairly productive day so far.
Have been up and tidied the full house.
Filled a bin bag with clothes that I'll take to cash for clothes for extra pennies.
Added some change to the change box that I found as I was tidying up
Girl came for the mirror I was selling on Gumtree so got some extra cash that I'll throw at the CCs this week
Currently about to have my coffee and see if I can watch some of the golf

Bob - I agree that there needs to be a top limit for repairing older cars. Our Suzuki has been a great car. Hasn't really needed much apart from tyres, brake pads, wiper blades, etc. It's only 5 years old but the mileage is getting up around when some of the bigger jobs need doing. Bad car news back firmly on the agenda today as Mr f took it in to the Suzuki garage for them to do a check on whether it needs a whole new clutch or just a plate or bearing. The verdict is that it could be the gearbox AND the clutch. Needless to say Mr f has insisted on a full briefing next week when it goes in, before sanctioning expensive repairs. Mechanic said he understands that entirely & said he will arrange a courtesy car for the 2 days it's in, which will be a help.
Still fretting, but at least as Purple Fairy said yesterday, this loan will be planned spending, NOT debt from frittering money away with nothing to show for it (both mine & Mr f's specialist subject in our spendy past!)
Well, it's dropped so cold here & sky black as coal. Must dash down to greenhouse & fleece the baby veggie plants.

PurpleFairy Thank you for getting us started this morning.
OH is off work sick today and will be off tomorrow, I can't remember the last time he had a weeks sick leave. Neither of us has had much energy and we have spent most of the week resting or sleeping, we have both tried hard to get plenty of fluids but our appetites are reduced as we are eating less we are saving money, every cloud has a silver lining

Today, had to get fuel & have osteopath in a moment. So expensive day!
BUT have managed to not spend any money at work all week. Got bought 2 coffees today by two people which was nice. Have brought in healthy breakfasts and lunches so far.

I just typed out a lovely long reply and then went and lost it  Never mind - after yesterday's positive day I'm hoping for more of the same today. Thanks for the start PF
It's another grey day here - I'm undecided whether or not to go out for a walk later with the kids. I've gotten a bit more keen on walking since the arrival of the Fitbit - mainly because I'm embarrassed at how lazy I actually am.
Anyway - today's list
check banking and PAD
aim for 7000 steps
aim for nsd (which will be tough if I need to go into town)
pay cheque into bank (see above)
collect present ordered online
look into a walkabout for me and the kids
make something with the chicken I got out of the freezer yesterday
update YNAB
Do some more crochet
relax and be kind to myself and others around me
Have a good day everyone
I am interested in the whole concept of steps. I don't understand why people measure them instead of just how far they walked in miles or kms?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi April Awesome-ees,
So we've had quite a successful day:
OH and I re-felted the hut/shed roof as cheaply as we could:
£16.50 of roofing felt from Homebase.
All roofing nails re-used the nails from the old roof.
A few extra screws were required so we took these from stores. Whenever I see a screw in the street I pick it up. Happens more often than you think! Also if I have to throw something in the recycling I remove the screws first.
Added two new batons to the roof. These were made from wood taken from a neighbour's skip last year (with permission).
30p of bin bags were used to cover the roof before adding the felt.
Adhesive sealant was free from Screwfix when they were giving away £5 of free goods on offer.
Paint was from stores.
Staples from stores.
All tools were from stores
Total cost: £16.80.
Last Summer OH stapled bubble-wrap to the whole of the inside of the shed hoping this would stop wasps penetrating it. It was a good job she did because when the roof began leaking the bubble wrap saved the electric outdoor tools! The bubble wrap was free; it came in a parcel when we bought something. It's now drying out and can go back in next week.
We popped out for a Tapas lunch while the paint was drying using money from our entertainment budget.
What about you folks?

Bob, because the NHS is promoting walking 10,000 steps a day in their LiveWell campaign.
Personally I prefer miles too.
I think what the NHS is saying is "move your legs 10,000 times a day" rather than "walk 5 miles" so that people are encouraged to do whatever non-linear exercise they can, like hoovering or tidying the house and people don't think they haven't time to walk 5 miles.
Also some people have Apps which give rewards proportional to the number of steps taken.
