I've made a huge step tonight and re-connected with someone I've neglected in my recent murk.
Going to bed happy
And.....just for mhoc, I walked round to the express and was delighted to find they had bottles of Amstel which took me over the £1.21 I needed to claim my £20 on COS. Small things0 -
I always quite fancied Ritchie
he never got any action despite being quite good looking.
I know only Snap and Mhoc will understand and maybe PD. I just felt it was time to say I fancied Richie in happy days
Moff to bed:rotfl::rotfl:

I was fed up with having the same items outstanding every time with my usual main M, so I decided to travel out and use a different store. So, it was back to Winsford in Cheshire this time. It is a nice store to do a price collection in and seems to have more items than my usual stores. Though of course it has items missing that I have in the other stores:rotfl:
There were some maybe good items on the RTC shelf that will probably still be there. There is some Savers Porridge Oats (1Kg) at 25p. Not sure why as they are a pack with quite long date (March 2017). There is a Thornton's Harry Hopalot 250g at 99p - it's partly broken but, hey, that's what happens to all chocolate when we consume it! There's also some single dog food cans at 25p each. Also some Dry Me Toilet Training Pads at 95p (not sure if the pack may have the odd one or two missing - it is a little battered but probably fine). There's other chocolate eggs, fwiw: Kit Kat Chunky Egg 322g at £1.15 and Moo Free Chocolate Egg 100g at £1 (not sure whether this last one was on the RTC shelf - I can't recall: I might have found it somewhere else in the store). There are also some Milton Multigrain Crackers (170g) on Winsford RTC shelf at 49p. They are marked down from £1, which suggests that I shouldn't have removed them from the M list as they remained somewhere (namely Winsford!) at £1 in the last few weeks after I'd deleted them from my list before then:rotfl:. However, I suspect I deleted them as I wasn't seeing them anywhere at all and felt they now stood no chance of being found on the APG.
I am sorry:o:o that you might find there are no Triple Chocolate Biscuits Assortment packs left (unless they have some more and bring them out). I went back to this store as it was the store in which I found those packs yesterday, with the SEL at £1.50 and they are 10p. I bought a couple of packs yesterday - which was fortunate as I made the mistake of taking a family member with me to one of my local Ms the other day where I found them without a price. Obviously they knew I bought the biscuits as they were with me. I came back to find they had consumed nearly an entire pack, by themselves, immediately on the day on which they were bought:mad:. I'd obviously bought way too little as these packs will not last two seconds each here, so I bought another pack and then a further one just to make sure. I still wondered last night if I'd bought enough:rotfl:.
I'm afraid I took the entire four packs that were left on the shelf on Monday. I thought that for 10p each you could not go wrong and even if we were to chuck out a couple of packs as we didn't use them, that would just be 20p wasted. And that's only 20p. The packs were just winking at me on a few occasions during the price collection, so I went and took them all! I thought of posting here last night to say that, if you are in or near Winsford, the biscuits assortment is available. Well, in any event, I did mention they were out there somewhere (and probably still are, in a similar rare store that hasn't changed the SEL) so, if you wanted them that badly, you could have gone to your M on Monday morning to see if they were in your M. You'll have to PM me and, if I still have a few packs left in a few months' time and I'm going back to Winsford, I could bring them back and let you have one.
I also felt I hadn't bought enough Go Ahead! Orange Slices packs the other day. I paid way over the odds it now seems:eek: on other flavours when I compared from A against M's 67p price a few months ago - I should have waited and bought the Orange. As I already had those other packs, I didn't buy many of the Orange now. But, on second thoughts, they are BB October this year for me so I could have bought more than I did, for 10p each! Of course they've vanished completely from my local stores:mad:. I wasn't expecting to come across those on Monday, but I did!:T:T
I've had a hit on three of the 10p items (four including the Biscuits Assortment but I knew they were there already). For the Go Ahead! Slices, the lucky store is Chester:D. I've obviously got enough of them for me now:rotfl:, but, to be fair, I could not have bought the whole stock as there are lots of them.
You've also got the YOO Hot Dogs in Chester, as that's the store that has the £1 SELs on them:rotfl:! There is therefore quite a lot of stock. The Orange Slices aren't with the others on the shelf - instead they near the end of the aisle with a SEL for £1 offer on a different flavour underneath where they are and no price showing for the Orange ones:D! Thank you Chester for not displaying their price! There's also the Party Football Rings - again no price on the shelf, helping secure their presence:T. However, I bought just one pack of those as I have enough from elsewhere already. So, I found two out of the four in Chester yesterday (Monday). There's also lots of the Bird's Rum Sauce at 50p in a container in Chester - obviously not many people interested in them there as they were all there weeks ago:rotfl:. I deleted them from my list after months on there, as I couldn't quite believe they could be available anywhere after such a long time and me not seeing them in any other store I was visiting, and then I discovered them there so I put them back on! They have vanished from a lot of stores I've been to - although I occasionally come across the odd pack in a store. However, Chester has lots. They mustn't like Rum Sauce in Chester:rotfl:. Or maybe it's just where M keeps nearly all its stock of this product:think::rotfl::rotfl:. Long BB dates so no rush anyway it seems.
Sadly I couldn't see any Forest Fruit Belvitas. I have not found them physically anywhere and I reckon they will only be found in some store that hasn't put the £1 SELs onto any of the others in the first place - and that seems an unlikely store.
I've had a hit with a 10p SEL elsewhere. It's the McVities Breakfast Bakes. Only the Blueberry version mind, the Apple version is nowhere to be seen in that store and no SEL or any evidence for it! However that clearly isn't an APG store as I have seen items failing on times when I've known them to be in that store. I didn't buy any though - as I bought enough of both before from the store when they didn't have any price on them at all:rotfl:. That SEL is now bad news in one sense as the rest will now quickly vanish! The 10p SELs for the White Chocolate Tracker that I had in a couple of stores that I've revisited now have completely gone, so leaving no evidence of the product, and I've found none of the product anywhere. It was just hopeless finding those SELs present - no stock at all!
However, despite me requesting people not to - and I don't suppose it was one of you? - someone has now bought the "Don't Buzz the Wire" game at £2 as that has completely vanished:mad:! So, I have no way of tracking if that ever goes to even lower RTC, unless I come across it somewhere else (this now seems quite unlikely). Oh well, I've saved myself £2:rotfl:.
It may be an idea, if anyone comes across the game in an M in several months' time and sees no price on the SEL - that's the store where it will then be of course - to take it and scan it and it could be really cheap! So, bear it in mind, just in case you see it in a while in your store without a SEL.0 -
I saw people buying expensive items in the stores today. In Winsford, someone picked up a pack of the Savers Biscuit Assortment at £1.00 whilst I was getting all four packs of the 10p Biscuit Assortment! The 10p Biscuit Assortment (which I keep going on about:o) is more like a 'luxury' pack, of biscuits like the Victoria Selection or Family Circle, rather than the 'ordinary' biscuits - Malted Milk, Custard Creams, Bourbon Creams etc. - of the Savers pack. So, have a 700g pack of 'ordinary' biscuits for £1 or 1.2Kg of 'luxury' biscuits for 40p.
I saw someone pick up a pack of the McVities Victoria Selection 300g at £2:eek::eek::rotfl:. Same weight as the above 10p own brand.
And finally I saw someone taking some Belvita Biscuits at £1:eek: whilst I was looking in vain there for the 10p version. (In fact, that £1 price on the other Belvita Biscuits ought to be £1:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: :eek::eek::eek::eek: since supermarkets and the public seem to think that that is a good price when in fact it's not as it is ten times the cost of what Belvita Biscuits 'should' now be:D:rotfl: (:( as can't find them anywhere).)0 -
The M frozen 4 pack pies (chicken, steak & kidney etc.) are 2 for £3. I was able to check that today - I bet the staff wonder how I do it:rotfl:. (How do I seem to know there might be an mbuy on them?) Too many stores for my liking are not displaying the mbuy. One of the versions of the pies in A returned N/A on the APG several weeks back - if that happens, then it won't stand a chance at all.
In fact, in T, I think if people (but excluding NI of course) want a nice failure and hope for a moneycard as extra comp. from CS (hope they do that), they should buy the Bassett's Bertles Jelly Mix (160g bag) as quite a few Ms are showing full price £1.46 even though they are 73p. Also some of the Pro:Voke Shampoo/Conditioner 400ml as they don't seem to be in many Ms - they are on m.com and clearly £2.50. Bet they'll pick them up correctly now:rotfl::(:rotfl::rotfl:. Remember that if they reduce the bill to match the M price, that's time to change your mind.:)
(:think:Maybe there could be a risk in this strategy - their T&Cs say that if they find no common price from M, they will be N/A as there is no fair price. They could well get Bertles Jelly Mix results from their three Ms as follows: 73p, £1.46, N/A. In fact, three out of my four from Monday could give that result. So, they could refuse to compensate you. Hopefully they don't know the detail of their own T&Cs.)
EDIT: Actually this reminds me: the Muller Greek Corner 4 pack yogurts are off - they have gone from £1 to 2 for £4 in M, so don't go buying those now! The Muller Light Goodies however are still £1.:)0 -
Savvybuyer wrote: »Haribo Easter Fun (220g)50p May find it on cheaper RTC in T, seeing that it isn't available on t.com anymore:rotfl::rotfl: This may have gone down to 25p in M now. I hope it has - because the near-twice the weight Easter Hunt has gone down from £1 to 50p.
Haribo Fizzy Farm Animals (220g)50p As above.Savvybuyer wrote: »Nestle Quality Street Matchmakers - Zingy Orange (130g)50p See below.
Nestle Quality Street Matchmakers - Yummy Honeycomb (130g)50p I've not seen these for ages - but the moment I delete them they will continue to be in some M somewhere I've not visited.
Indeed! I have now - months on from their first appearance - found a SEL for the Yummy Honeycomb version, although no stock, suggesting that it has recently been available in M at 50p. It is still around somewhere, even though - it appears - it has not been in many Ms for some time (and none of the ones I've been to previously recently have had it at all). Told you - the moment I start thinking of deleting something, that's the time when it appears in the next store (or one after)! I am not removing these Matchmakers items just yet. Indeed, judging by the Santa Selection turning up months later, they could well be on the list almost permanently! I'm glad to have found even just the SEL however, as this reinforces the position that they need to remain on the list as they are somewhere in M. Basically it's another picking up of the item and confirms that it should stay on the list (and the Zingy Orange will be around too, even if in extremely few Ms now but could be yours). If anyone does have actual stock of either, in their M, I would like to know.
You may have noticed the Berggold Fruit Jellies going back onto the list. Possibly deleted in error earlier:rotfl: - however maybe I felt they weren't very good after all. They seem rare too - you will be lucky with them in your store! - I found them on my way 'down south' to Gloucestershire last week - at Pendeford, Wolverhampton (I popped into that store, and then did a long drive, as I hadn't been there before). Another item that just keeps hanging on at one store - seemingly as if it has regularly been there on the shelf for ages.
I'm going to remove the McVities Victoria Biscuit Selection. That is still on the list:eek: - should be buying the 10p M Triple Chocolate assortment instead! I suspect you will save the £2 though, as the M assortment will be probably hard to come by (but then again it could be in your store, with no price or with a higher price) and, with the knowledge that another similar product is available at 10p somewhere else, you won't be tempted to buy the McVities at £2:eek:!
Indeed, should we even be thinking of buying the Vinnies Biscuit Selection or any of the other biscuits selections now?:think:Savvybuyer wrote: »Fox's Fabulously Biscuits Selection (600g)£2.00 RTC So much for Mr A's 300g version at £3! (And Sains £3.50:eek::eek:.)
McVitie's Victoria Sapphire Biscuits Selection (385g)£1.50:eek:
Fox's Vinnies Biscuits Selection (365g)£1.50:eek:
McVitie's Victoria Biscuit Selection (300g)£2.00:eek::eek:
I am going to remove them all, but I'm leaving this quote here for reference. I haven't seen the Fabulously Biscuits Selection or Victoria Sapphire or Vinnies Selection for ages - some of these were hanging around from after Christmas and I doubt that they are generally available in M anymore. Although - that has never been a criterion for the list:rotfl:. I am removing them - so that at least the list is decluttered a bit in that way:cool:. Just a way expensive way to go with Biscuits Selections I feel:eek::D:rotfl:.0 -
Does anyone have Wagg Complete Beef & Vegetables dog food 12Kg + 25% extra free at £7.50 in their M? Or is that £9 in your M whilst the straight 12Kg version is available only in other Ms at £7.50 (that don't have the "25% extra" product)?
In this case, the 25% would be quite an additional weight, so it would make quite a difference to be able to get 15Kg for £7.50 instead of 12Kg.
Or it is 25% extra for £1.50 more than the cost of the 12Kg product (that doesn't have a price in your store since it isn't available there) rather than for "free"?
I wonder now about another item from a month or two (maybe three) back - the Bernard Matthews Turkey Ham. That seemed to go off £1 offer and onto £2 in one of my stores although, first, the 250g normal pack lost its price on the SEL. I thought the offer had ended and the product had doubled in price as the offer was due to end. However, two days later, it seemed the offer had rolled over (or else restarted) as it was showing £1 offer and valid until a few weeks later in other stores. I think the 250g product then disappeared from the first M. At around this time, a "250g plus 25% extra free" product then appeared in that store - price on the SEL for which was £2. Not the £1 price that was on the 250g product itself in other Ms, where the offer was continuing until the new date. So, is this 25% extra for the cost of £1 more than the straight product in others of our stores, but there isn't a price applicable to this product as it isn't available in this store and therefore the extra "free" pack can be charged at any price? Or maybe I am getting something wrong and I am missing something?0 -
Oh - while I'm at it - and it looks bad to be in this order now as it suggests I've something against M that in fact I don't have - but the Nestle Nobbly Bobbly Sticks have now gone up from £1 offer to their £2 everyday low price. (I should have said this earlier - and it would have looked better.) I don't know how they can double the price of a product and say it is now at an "everyday low price". To be fair, not all stores are showing an "everyday low price" label on the SEL for that product.
Avoid! And also the Rowntree's Ice Lollies offer has ended - as a result of which the product has doubled in price.
The Birds Eye Steamfresh bags are also off. Now I remember:doh::rotfl::rotfl:.
EDIT:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everyday_low_price
"Everyday low price (also abbreviated as EDLP) is a pricing strategy promising consumers a low price without the need to wait for sale price events or comparison shopping. EDLP saves retail stores the effort and expense needed to mark down prices in the store during sale events, and is also believed to generate shopper loyalty."
Pricing "strategy" - so it is merely strategic and simply aimed at getting people to buy products at particular prices. It "promises" (though I'm taking the Wikipedia entry literally and it is not a set-in-stone definition) a low price. However, my point is that £2 is *not* a low price. It is a *high* price, especially in comparison with £1. Which is low and which is high? £1 or £2? Obviously £2 is low in the upside-down everything-means-the-opposite-of-what-it-says supermarket world:rotfl:. Beats me, and obviously any rational and reasonably held view. In my view (but then again everything is merely opinion), it is impossible to maintain on any reasonable basis that £2 is a low price in the context of £1 having been charged immediately the day before and, by that not being described then as being "low" impliedly suggesting that £1 is not low when £2 is. Such a view is, IMO, so unreasonable and so completely contrary to any rational or reasonable argument that it should be discounted and disregarded as being so far beyond anything reasonable that it is completely deviant. Some opinions do *not* have equal validity (again IMO though:rotfl:) - some are so unreasonable that they should be struck out as being completely laughable and not possible for any serious person reasonably to hold. In short, based on the Wikipedia entry, £2 "everyday low price" does not deliver what it promises, since it is not a low price. It is possibly, or probably, now at the highest price which the store charges for this item.0 -
