I've had a message from a dear friend tonight that has made me realise I've been wilfully avoiding some peopleMostly the people I talk to on a very personal level. I know I don't need to apologise to them for it as they are good enough friends to still be there on the other side.
I've made light of my recent stay in hospital. It wasn't a light affair. I had renal failure and my family were round the bed because for a few hours, I wasn't making any progress. Thankfully medicine and medical staff are wonderful and once I got a foot on the getting better ladder, I rallied quite quickly. I did, however, have a very brief dark time in there. A glimpse into my inevitable future perhaps? And I did think if that was is my future, I really don't want itNot a nice few days.
I'm still not feeling ready to talk about that with anyone on a one to one basis. I will, I've just preferred the safety of a public place for now. The grand National thing was as good for me as it was for everyone else. I needed the distraction.
I've done and said things I shouldn't have on here. I've upset folk and been disagreeable at times. I suffer from big gob syndrome. I'm not a fence sitter and probably never will be. I have been grateful for a place to go today though where I don't have to get too close and personal about how I'm feeling.
That's all
You'll have the conversations you need to have, with the people you need to have them with, when you are ready.
With my mother earlier this week I had the very needed conversation, on her side, with her at her invitation, and it wasn't easy but it was necessary and now it is done my father and siblings have been saved the angst and we are just going to get on with making the best memories we can.0 -

And home brew
My father used to make some noxious home brew in the hot press but not half as bad as the wines my granny used to ferment in the cupboard under the sink. They were prone to exploding.0 -
