bought a property - cleaning before moving in?

Do you want it cleaned for you, or not? Do you have the time or inclination to do it yourself?
Do you genuinely expect it to be perfect?
I've been left everything from 'slightly dusty' to 'hovel'.
If I had disposable income available, I'd ask them to do it. We're talking Highgate, not Hull.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Did it look dirty when you viewed it? Or is this just a general question.
Personally I deep clean when we move out of the house so if you loved into my house it wouldn't need it
(Incidently I'm not selling in highgate)
It's personal choice. If you hate cleaning and want to make sure its clean...if you have that money spare....go for it.0 -
Worth it if it's filthy, was previously occupied by smokers or people with pets, especially if you had allergies. I once moved into a rented flat (which was supposedly non smoking) and the previous tenants clearly smoked. Any condensation produced by cooking or showering released the smell and left tobacco tainted condensation running down the walls, yuck!0

I've just bought my first place and was looking forward to getting in and cleaning it before moving my stuff in, turns out previous owners left it immaculate and I couldn't find a thing to clean even if I tried! :rotfl:0

If a deep clean is needed on an empty flat/house then I would have thought redecorating/carpets etc were also needed, if they aren't needed, then surely a wipe around and a hoover is all that is needed?0 -
Yes you must clean it to make your house look good.0
