Hi
i am buying a two bed flat in highgate and was wondering whether its worth hiring a professional cleaner to clean the flat before i move in? they say itll take 5-6 hours for a fee of £130 and apparently they clean top to bottom.
thanks

What a bizarre question.
It's completely up to you.0 -
<shrug> You tell us. You're the one who knows how clean you want your own flat.0

Having moved into somewhere that the vendor left in a filthy state, I'd do this every time given the opportunity. Having to move your belongings into a dirty place is a real downer."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0

Depends on the state of the place. Will the cleaners remove stuff the previous owners have left behind.., what does it actually include.., my definition of cleaning is usually very different to other people's lol. Is it just a hoover and wipe down - does it include wall/ceiling cleaning (probably not)? Do they use steamers, or do carpet cleaning, oven cleaning (probably not) etc. Is it one cleaner or two? (If only one, they aren't going to do much in 5-6 hours, will be basic clean.., and well I can think of better ways to spend £130 - ?plus vat? when moving house).0

Meanwhile, in a parallel universe:
"i am selling a two bed flat in highgate and was wondering whether its worth hiring a professional cleaner to clean the flat before i move out..."0 -
If you think it's probably going to be OK, then you can always call a cleaner in once you've been there a day or so..... if you feel you don't want to do it on your own, or for any other reason.... but it might be left immaculate, which'd be a waste of hard useful cash0

Depends
* what condition it's in
* what condition you want it to be in
* how lazy you are
* how well off you are0 -
I had my house deep cleaned before I moved in, yes. Oven, carpet, everything. Well worth it and easily done when it's empty.0

Sounds like the description to an under-the-counter VHS video from the 1970's.... with not exactly a "clean" ending either0

If they do leave it in a mess, it's definitely worth hiring a professional cleaner."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0
