Spring city break vacations

Looking to vacate for 2-3 days for a European city break. Bern to several major cities and countries already. But rather than list them, please recommend 2-3 with your reasoning.
Criteria - sun, historical places or somewhere with good vibes and sites. Photogenic.

We recently went to Bratislava and Vienna which was amazing... check out our blog: https://www.voyagesofavegan.com
There's plenty of otheres as well, we loved Madrid and it was super cheap to get there and stay. A lot of Central and Eastern Europe is amazing, have you been to Budapest? We combined our Budapest trip with Zagreb and Ljubljana as well as Italy.
