HMRC Self Assessment Repayments 2016

Received my repayment a few days ago. Oddly, they didn't pay into the bank account I nominated on the tax return. Instead they made a debit card refund (dated last year sometime) to the debit card I used to pay last year's self assessment tax bill. Fortunately that account was still open.

No they wont make a payment on a weekend but it will update tomorrow to give you todays information.


if you have been refunded today it depends on your bank when it clears. last year my payment was issued on a Friday and is was in my bank the Saturday.

Mine still says beans payment pending. Is there any change I should look out for as a sign it's going in?

Also if it does say bank repayment pending when do they update there page? Is there any point in me keep checking or just check every morning

Should update overnight with today's info, but won't update again until Tuesday. Once it's been issued it will change to issued and will be in the next working day.

Been on live chat and my partners has been security checked and should be done by 11th May.

Also told me it's only been 8 working days since its been pending due to Easter and takes up to 14 working days if you don't get selected for checks.

I'm not sure, last time it took more the 2 weeks, every time he called he got a different answer and one was security Checks. Part of me thinks it's something they just say to hold payments. This is 3rd time in 8 years he has been told he has been security checked.
