I got told everyone who gets over £1000 back gets security checked to make sure what sums you put i.e tax paid money earned are matching records0

I'm not sure that's the case. Last year, I was incorrectly refunded around £5000 when I was only due around £200. They somehow included figures in the wrong section (had to file on paper).
