I'm now on repayment pending. Took about 4 weeks to get to this stage last year. Didn't receive my repayment till 27th may last year.

    Completed mine 6th.
Changed to Repayment Pending on 8th
This is the first time I've overpaid tax and am due a refund. Do I need to use the 'Request Repayment' link to request they refund me. I'm assuming I don't as it all seems automated but appreciate anyone's advice. Thanks

No you don't need to request if it's already pending. Only if it says not yet used.

Last year I noticed the request a repayment option for the first time ever so I did and it took ages to pay out! Somebody said if you don't request one it will automatically change to pending and not take as long because the system doesn't think you've made 2 claims or something like that? (Not sure) well this year it's asking me to request again!! Should i leave it and see what happens or request one and run the risk of it taking forever again?
  • As far as I can remember back I've always requested and normally had payment within 4 weeks.
I've requested again as normal so let's see!

If you claimed the refund when completing the return there is no need to make a second claim, see pkrbkc's post. Certainly best to wait a couple of days for the return to be processed fully. If still not pending then request via your HMRC account or phone to see what the problem is.

I wouldn't wait, I see to wait but it never changes. It's not going o hurt to request repayment. I did mine on Friday and it's at repayment pending already.

I'm going to leave it one more day, I've just had another quick look and it says information as of the 7th still (last Friday) when it changes overnight tonight it may change to pending also? If not I'll request :) then hopefully it'll be  soon
