You'll get better advice if you start a new thread.bluetoffee1878 wrote: »The address of the 'location' on the NTK does not match with the post code. Neither the address nor the post code are car parks, and are not sites that are 'managed' by any PPC. I phoned each of them today to confirm.
I'd be reporting them to trading standards (and the police?) for issuing invoices for somewhere they don't manage and don't have any rights. Send in a complaint to the IPC as well just to see what they (don't) do.
No doubt, the address/location is incorrect, but from the evidence they've given you, it's outright fraud. Let them prove to trading standards that they are just incompetent and not crooks.0 -
Complain to DVLA also, because quite clearly they had no reasonable cause to obtain the registered keeper's details.0

In view of following Coupon Mad's advice re: registering intent to appeal, I have written an appeal as a word doc.
I'm still waiting for the info from the appellant for the IAS website.
My assumption is that I can upload a pdf onto the website as the appeal.
I would love if any of the regulars could critique. I don't really want to post up here just yet, and I know that the regulars keep their in boxes full (don't blame you
) but if anybody has time and is happy to pm me their email, I will send. If not no problems. 0 -
This company appears to have a problem with v.a.t. If, as they claim, this is contractual charge, it is a fee for parking, and thus vatable. Have they accounted for vat on their paper work?
Ask them for a vat invoice. If they ignore your request, (which they probably will), it is a useful stick with which to beat them if it ever gets to court.

Sadly, no you can't and neither can you copy & paste into the box.
You actually have to type into the appeal box, or at least you did last time I did one.
You only need the basics like the PCN number and VRN and name/address. No code. You need to register intent in time just with a few clicks. Not putting the appeal in yet. You see their hand before they see yours, which is why it is worth a try.I'm still waiting for the info from the appellant for the IAS website.
I will send you a pm.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If you have a decent browser you could disable Javascript on that page. This should then let you copy/paste into appeal box. (They're likely using Javascript to prevent such actions ... I can't think of any other way they could do it).

Copy/paste to Notepad first, to remove any odd formatting characters, then into the appeal box.0 -
Thanks CM, Yeah just waiting for the appellants DOB email phone number etc then I will register intent0

The Deep - Thanks, Yes I had already got onto the VAT issue and it will be mentioned in the appeal0

I think the IAS have a cheek asking for an appellant's date of birth - after all, why should this be relevant?
We've recently dabbled with one or two IAS appeals in our company's name - of course we had to leave the DOB box blank because companies are incorporated, not born. However, this didn't seem to hold up the process.
Under the updated IAS "standard" process, after logging your intent to appeal, the Operator must then upload their prima facie case (this could include various pictures, documents etc.).
After the IAS has decided that the Operator has a prima facie case, you are then invited to respond with your own evidence. You can upload your own pictures, documents etc. and so it is possible to submit your full appeal as a PDF (using the IAS text box only to summarise your main points).
Bear in mind that the Operator still gets to have the last word and has a further opportunity to respond to your evidence. A cynic may suggest that this allows the Operator scope to provide only minimal information at the prima facie stage, holding back most of their information until the stage in the process where it's too late for the appellant to submit any further evidence.0 -
Good to hear that a PDF can be uploaded once we've seen the cards of the PPC. I was thinking he/she would still have to type in their appeal.
I have emailed bluetoffee1878 and this might be another one to dabble with! If nothing else, appellants get to see some 'evidence' and the PPC's case even if they then decide not to appeal further and just resume ignore mode.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
