I think it is Norwich Union where the quote varies on how much you drive...
I have seen it advertised recently in a newspaper, think it was yesterdays Sun...
They reckon you could save 30% over their normal policy if you do less than 6,000 a year but then who does 6,000 miles a year?!?!

I'm in the same boat with my 17 yrs old son. If we insure his car in our name with him as named driver its £2500:eek:
If we insure in his name its £1200:eek: with Quinns. It's a P reg Fiesta 1.3. Tried all the ones above and they all came up with £2500 in his name. Alot of companies wont even touch him...
He has had a licence for nearly a year and a moped but they won't even take that into account. He only paid £200 for the car!!!!!
he may have only paid £200 for the car but he can cause millions of pounds worth of damage. Chances are he will have a crash, which is why it is so expensive.0 -
Could also be worth thinking about getting put on your parents policy for a year first - if they get Direct Line, you could get a year's no claims and save a few quid when you get your own policy...
(naturally, I wouldn't advocate being a named driver if you're the main/only driver...)0
