    The majority do this.

    I don't like them.
Hard to hide cables with that.

ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.
  • Wow. Never expected such great positive feedback on this one. Great responses to return to :) Thanks.

I should've stressed that being able to see a number plate would be something i would like in my dashcam. I don't want it blurry.

If a car is in front of me, i don't want to be bumper-to-bumper in order to record their number plate for example. I'd like it to show it quite clearly.

You should take a look at the video reviews on http://www.techmoan.com or check out his youtube channel.

I have the Transcend Drive Pro 200 - works a treat - number plates are easily read - even in night videos.

It needs no attention whatsoever - just does what it should.

I fitted a bigger 32GB memory card so can get over 8 hours on the card.

I did a test with my Mobius at night time. At 70mph on a motorway, I maintained the recommended 2 second gap between myself and the vehicle in front. It's number plate is clearly visible. My maths tells me that is about 30 metres. That is at it's highest resolution of 1080p.

As has been mentioned previously, look at Techmoans reviews on Youtube he includes road tests so you can judge the clarity for yourself.

In practice, you only need the file containing the few seconds that are important. You do have to switch the engine off, otherwise it will keep recording, and if you have a small memory card, like 4GB, it could get deleted while you argue with the other driver.

I would say Night vision is pretty essential.
Not too sure about the infra red lights, though.

I paid £80 for a rear view mirror mounted dash cam. Does Night vision, Full HD resolution, and the picture was VERY good.
The main dealer wanted £120 to install it. Hidden cable run, did not use the cigarette socket. Neat job.

A little technical note. The cigarette plug has a glass tube fuse in it. When installing it by connecting to the wiring loom behind the CD/Radio, you should use the same rating fuse in an inline fuse holder.

I suppose you can just plug it into the lighter socket, but it's not very tidy. It will work every time you turn the key.

Some cars have a permanently live cigarette lighter socket.
