Parent was criticised once before, (not by me) for the parenting style and it didn't go down well.
It's almost as if they have become oblivious to it. The 13 year old usually forgets to flush the toilet after using it. We noticed this years ago, and she still hasn't resolved it.

Put a note on the inside of the bathroom door until it becomes habit.

I don't think you are intolerant at all
I don't either - now that the OP has clarified some of the points in the first post.

My 'tad intolerant' comment was posted before the OP posted the update i.e. the post you quoted. :)

Mildly irritating I know, but when aforementioned child returns from the lavatory you should ask "have you washed your hands and flushed the lavatory"? Then check, and do it every time, EVERY time. At home, or away.
I reckon the embarrassment factor [STRIKE]might[/STRIKE] will accelerate the learning process.
Especially when you have explained that you dont care who hears you ask.

    I've been Money Tipped!
My capable, seventeen year old daughter loves it if I make her beans on toast and cut the toast into little squares before she eats it like I did when she was little !

On the other hand she can easily get to the other side of the world under her own steam.
Never again will the wolf get so close to my door

But I was just quoting the op when she questioned herself if she was just being intolerant

ive just had to print out an award chart for the nine year old because he doesn't see the need to brush his teeth without me taking him by the hand and loading the toothbrush

He was perfectly capable in the past, but I guess he's found other things in his life much more pressing and exciting then tooth brushing

My point was that the OP perhaps said maybe she was intolerant simply because I'd mentioned it in the post immediately above hers.
    Coincidence?
    Maybe.

Given the additional information, I didn't think he/she was intolerant.
