i can recommend North Devon as i live there. fantastic beaches are saunton, woolacombe, putsborough, croyde. lots of attractions if the weather isn't very good. The "Ruda" holiday park is great for a family, right next to the beach! I also think that "The Golden Sands" holiday park at Woolacombe is great. i love it here!!!:j
I agree. .........0 -
Can anybody recommend Welcombe? We are looking for a quiet family holiday with plenty of fresh air.
And when is the best time to go in terms of weather, is there a website where I can see past statistics for Jun/July/Aug?
Thanks
Weather? This is the UK you are talking about!
When it's really hot it tends to be a bit cooler on the coast due to breezes and it's a milder down here over winter but we don't have any sort of special micro climate!0 -
I live in Barnstaple in North Devon and I suppose the town is quite a good base for exploring the rest of North Devon. There are plenty of shops and pubs to visit, bowling alley, cinema, lots of parks and places to walk. Loads of nice beaches and seaside towns to explore. Woolacombe and Croyde are nice places to go. However, I dont know which accomodation to recommend what with living so close I havent bothered trying it out!I believe in angels, the kind that heaven sends.I am surrounded by angels, but I call them my friends.:A :A :A :A :A :A0

We'd like to visit the Eden Project, Launceston railway, Par, and Penzance. Can anyone recommend hotels or B&Bs? Don't want to spend the earth, but as its our honeymoon I don't wnat to do our usual thing of staying in Travellodges!
Hi - I know you posted this a while ago - wish I'd seen it then. I had to go down to Cornwall for a family event in January and stayed at White Waves guest house in St Ives. It was the most wonderful B & B and would be perfect for a honeymoon.
If anyone else is looking for something very special in this wonderful town, here is the link:

I have been looking for a cheap site (a rare thing!), This place looks great - thank you."Thou shalt not forget that money is only money and not character or fame.”
