on a related note - is there any way to check your gift card balance without going to the till in store?

starts the month after you switch. The payment for that month is paid by the 15th of the following month.
So switch Feb. March is the first qualifying month. Paid by 15th April.
Interested if you can check without going to till?0 -

Just tried to complete the setup process, entered my mobile number, got the activation code, entered that, then got the same message as last time 'Unfortunately we cannot register you for M&S Balance at this point. Please call us on 0345 900 0900 to discuss your options'
That's not my idea of 'New Fashioned Banking' so I think I'll give up now.:(0
