Would I really need to be at T5 at 03.45 for a 06.45 flight?!
I am naturally an 'early bird' but trying to fathom the feasibility of transport options from hotel airports that early in the morning......2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
2021 £1250.00, 2022 £1500.00, 2023 £1500, 2024 £13502025 target = £1200, YTD £9190

The AA aircraft from DUB to PHL is an old B757 and gets poor reviews.
I researched this recently and decided it was worth avoiding.
If you did XXX-PHL-BGR you'd be going too far south and then north again taking extra time, I'd look at flying non stop direct from DUB or LHR to BOSton or Montreal and then driving.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

jackieblack, there is no need to be at T5 before 5am which is when check in opens. You should of course check in on line 24 hours before travel, then take your bags to the bag drop and have your esta checked and then go through security. Will still have plenty of time before boarding begins around 45 minutes before departure0

Yes, that would be better than a B757.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

No, it will be closed! Well the front doors will be open, but that's all.
It starts opening at 5am, before that you won't be able to get beyond the landside seating areas.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Thanks both, 5am sounds so much more civilised
They usually advise you to arrive 3 hours before your flight but I've never flown so early before2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

That's useful for me, Richard. We fly Manchester to Philadelphia regularly. We live in North Wales so have considered going via Dublin.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

AA have alot of aircraft and how they are allocated to routes can change, always check before booking which aircraft is likely to be utilised, some may offer extra legroom seats at a reasonable price. They are introducing premium economy on some routes and also new B787 Dreamliner.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

WestJet has some good fares to St John's from Gatwick on direct non-stop flights, could be too far away from where you want to be though and need more driving.
Btw Norwegian also fly from Gatwick to Boston.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
