A good way to make money is to advantage of the current account switching incentives. I opened a random account and set up 2 direct debits and basically kept switching banks (while keeping my main account the same) and just collected the payments. I think I did 4 banks last year and made £400 with little to no work, usually just sorted it during my lunch time at work.
M&S did a great one, where you get £100 in vouchers when you 'switch' and then an extra £10 voucher each month if you meet the criteria for 12 months, which is like £220 in vouchers. that's how im paying for Christmas.
Good luck
Thanks for posting, on my Debt free journey I switched 3 recently times netting £425 so I need things to settle down a bit before I switch again. Definitely something to consider in the Autumn though once I have waited a few months.
Fantastic result with the M&S :money:"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -

You're going to be my inspiration for future living. I've still never gotten round to reading MMM or the other stuff. I'll put it on my list of things to do... Good luck with it all.
Lovely to see you over here Cat :A I will also be following your diary and look forward to seeing you continue to make progress.
I am a little bit in love with MMM, i youtube'd him :rotfl:

Lovely 3 day weekend:j
Mr Light is not too well today after battling with a sore throat all week he has finally been taken over by the lurgy so is in bed for now. Thankfully he does not turn into a child when unwell.
I am taking this opportunity to keep my purse zipped tight and do some spring cleaning of the kitchen. All cupboards to be cleaned out, de-cluttered and sparkling by the end of the morning.
Plenty of food in the cupboards but I am out of Cat food so need to do a quick trip out later.
I use YNAB which I simply cannot live without now and budget is looking tight but manageable, can't see Mr Light wanting to venture out much this weekend. Every cloud:D"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Light I enjoyed that vid. MMM comes across much nicer and less hardass than in his blog posts.
He also looks very young. Hmnnn must be retirement!0 -
Sat here on a mild Saturday morning with the kitchen window open and I can hear all of the birds singing away in the trees............lovely.
I will be making brunch soon which is my way of saving money on a combined breakfast and lunch :money: L1dl are doing 6 x Linda Mcartney sausages for 99p and I shall have them with baked beans, poached egg, mushrooms and grilled tomatoes. That should see me through until dinner tonight.
My no eating out plan is going well and I have to say that I am not finding it too difficult at the moment. Mr Light is still unwell so I shall busy myself between housework and pottering around the garden. Actually my wardrobe could do with a good clear out.
Good news on the money making front and my No Spend Christmas as the netbook sold for £40. A little less than I had hoped for but it was surplus to requirements. Chuffed that £50 has come our way over the last week from pretty much useless (to us) items.
Aiming for a no spend day and no car day."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Note - I will not be eating all 6 sausages at once!"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0

Climb on the wagon Selloptape and stick yourself down.I kill myself........:rotfl:
Seriously though, I am more than happy to share the wagon with as many people as I can. I get lonely otherwise."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Proud to announce a No spend and No car day. I have busied myself clearing out more cupboards and was amazed to find 12 bottles of food colouring that I have no recollection of ever buying?? Also cleared out the medicine shelf and was shocked to find medication that went ourtof date in 2011, only hay fever tablets though. I also found some random stuff in there, why on earth I had a triangular sling bandage is beyond me.
Managed to clear enough room to house all of the stuff that lives on the top of the fridge which is now clutter free and only has an owl candle ornament on it. Twit Twoo
Made some fairy cakes as found some cake cases and am thinking of what to have for dinner. Have some halloumi cheese so think I fancy halloumi kebabs to use up half a pepper lurking in the fridge with some home made oven chips. Yum."These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0 -
Morning
Another lovely sunny morning here with birds singing away in the garden.
Aiming for another NSD today but need to use the car for something very MSE which is to collect firewood for my wood burning stove. Mr Light and I do have to saw it up (using a power saw) and bag it but that will burn calories and make us fitter. Neither of us look forward to the task but it does feel so rewarding when we have a pile full of free wood. This is the time of year to build up our stocks for next winter as the fire is not lit much at the moment.
Mr Light had a little bit of a flutter this weekend, didn't win which means £15 down the pan, not overjoyed with this but he has been ill and as long as it is a one off I will not whine too much in his lughole.
£uidco has an offer on for a Post Off credit card with £25 which I have been meaning to do for ages for Mr Light. I will look for other deals while I am on with it.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0
