I love this post every month, and what makes it even better is, some one even rang up and asked about it. It's a big mad scramble for £7 odd interest.

It'll get there when it gets there, just chill out.

I think you're missing the point. If it was possible to move the £7 odd interest to a 3% account today rather than waiting until Monday you could gain an extra fifth of a penny in interest! Not to be sniffed at.

Fifth of a penny ? have you checked your electricity standing charge ?

I'd say electricity shares need to have their own tarting thread ;)

It is always added on the second working day backdated to the first, since it will also include interest earned by the money today, tomorrow and Sunday.

I will be added on the second working day of the month, so this will show on Monday, and get back dated to today, as it does every month.

Same applies for the Halifax Reward payment, and Lloyds interest.

Nationwide interest is paid on the last day of each month, regardless of whether it's a working day or not. I've noticed that it tends to go in at around 10pm, whereas TSB always pay in the early hours of the relevant day. Nationwide also work on a calendar month, it's just that TSB interest is paid on the second working day backdated to the first. This month, it'll be paid on Monday and backdated to today.

you may want to reconsider the advice you hand out to fellow forum members ;)

halifax reward was also paid today.

you know what they say about assumptions.

~ Due to today being a non bank working day, and following the T&C's regarding interest and reward payments, it would be Monday,

Not sure what the issue is? it was posted today, I would like to think that this is a positive, rather then me posting it will be applied today the second day of the month, and it actually arriving the next working day being Monday

It wasn't a assumption it was fact in line with the T&C's. Cant see this being a issue again till maybe July....

Interested to see if the same happens then?
