It will be fine, I'm dramatising cos my heads been hurting for over a week and my husbands an idiot0 -
Mellymoo, I hope you feel a bit better today, or will very soon. You take care, now.
I think it is in the nature of husbands to be idiots. Just as tiggers come with claws, dogs come with dog eggs, husbands come with lack of clues. You just have to love them, anyway.
Thinking of you.

It's part of the job description.0 -
True
Thanks both
Stripeytiger had taken himself off before I got up this morning.
He foolishly tried to stare out picallili last night which led to yowling, hissing crab run etc.
He also got a no (he didn't understand it) from me when he attempted thiefery
Only had to mop twice so far
Pickles has brought me a dandelion?
Also a neighbour I see infrequently mentioned my new friend, and the kitten that appears to come with me when I take the doglets out.
Took me a while to realise she meant pickles lol.0 -
Pickle is bringing you flowers, Mellymoo! They always know when we are down, not feeling well, don't they? Charlie actually lets me cry on his shoulder, he's a moggie but has a serious chunk of Bengal in him; they don't mind water, right?
Princess Piccallilli is branching out, trying vegetable rather than animal gifts, imho. Perhaps we should start a competition of whose tigger has ever brought the most bizarre thing home. Of course, this is a competition for silver medal only, since I've already won:
Once upon a time, long ago, in a civilised place (down south) Kitten Lisa, who must have been between a year and eighteen months old at the time, brought a piece of loft insulation about 2'6" by 18 inches in through the cat flap, in the middle of the night. We came down in the morning to find this had been gifted to us, specially. It must have taken her ages to pull that through the cat flap. Don't ask me where she got it from. She was the most enterprising tigger. Thank goodness the glass fibres did her no harm, the little fool! I believe they can cause all sorts of issues, from irritation of the skin to breathing problems. Thankfully, she was fine.
She went through a kleptomaniac stage for several months, bringing mittens, socks, small, soft toys left out by next door's little boy in on a regular basis. Must be a hunting thing, obviously. Female tiggers have to provide for their kittens in the wild, after all, whereas dudes just have their fun and run, so male of them.
I hope this furry tale has cheered you up a little bit, Mellymoo and, with your permission, of course, entries to the competition may be made but they have to be true. Your thoughts, when you have time, please?0 -
I like the idea of a competition
Clearly Lisa felt that your property was chilly and you would benefit from insulation
It was a thoughtful gift.
Boo once gave me a dummy, he was walking round with it in his mouth for ages
'Tula gave me one of my own mice which was kind of him.0 -
Yes, well she was one smart cookie kitten, was Lisa... she was probably a property developer in a previous life!
You kept pet mice? At the same time as cats...? I'm saying nothing.0 -
I had a weird feeling when you said Pickle had brought you a dandelion, Mellymoo. Check out number 5 in this list, if you will:

She's a clever monkey.
'Tula was a beautiful smokey grey Persian, he also was a stray (mistreated according to vet) who crawled under bushes in my garden to die.
Next door had cats so we got small amounts of food in him overnight and went to the vets the next day.
His coat was immaculate but he was as skinny as stripey.
He was a lovely stubburn awkward monkey.
When I was moving he stayed with my vegan (cats shouldn't have collars as you never own a cat) friend. I was talking him through 'Tula's way of handling this and he was saying stuff about never shouting at a cat etc etc etc
3 days he lasted lol oh boy did the halo slip first question out of his mouth was how do you get him to do anything.
'Tula and I sat down and discussed how he could live with me no worries but rodents that lived in the house were out of bounds. He never touched another one, used to bring me wild ones though.0 -
