    Hello!

I've been following this thread for months and thought I would finally join up and post.

I have tons of toiletries stashed all around the house and as I've started running out of space I thought I would finally address the problem!

My weakness tends to be skincare (face and body) but I seem to buy things then forget! Need to actually use them!

I will post a list later of the bits I hope to use up this month. Just wanted to start by saying hi to everyone!

Welcome. You have one to the right place.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    Welcome Kim72 and Applesandpears36!
One little UU to start April.
    1. Vichy Idealia Smoothing and Illuminating Cream 5ml sample. WMB. Used this as a night cream this week and really liked it. Generally quite impressed with Vichy products.

Also 3 TAs. All spot treatments. I went through the skincare basket I keep out on my chest of drawers and these had been gathering dust they've been sitting there that long! Not because I haven't had any spots, unfortunately, but because I've learnt to just leave them alone. I conceal when necessary and keep them clean and dry the rest of the time.

Went through my candle drawer as well today and rediscovered my wax melts/tarts. I haven't been using them for a while so I've dusted off my wax burner and started a Flamingo Candles Dahlia wax melt alongside the Ikea floral candle I've got on the go. As long as I can find complementary scents, I'll use this two-pronged attack on the candle drawer for a while. Forgot how good the scent throw is on the melts. I am much better with candles than I was but it is still a weak spot. Luckily TK Maxx haven't had a good selection for a few months. I do use them everyday so I get through them but I probably still have more than necessary. Does anyone else count candles in their challenge?

Got to go to Lush tomorrow to get my sister's birthday presents. Wish me willpower! :)

I have a sample of the Vichy cream to use too. I'm still using their eye cream that I bought in the US. I'm pretty bad with eye teams in that I tend to apply them sporadically. Since putting this on my PP list I've been using it nightly and can't say I've noticed a remarkable difference. Then again, I wear glasses so any concerns are hidden any way.

Have you got any antihistamine pills to use up?

    I didn't think of that, I could kiss you!!:kisses3:

I've got a massive stash my ex left me with - I don't have hayfever. Everything happens for a reason eh?! haha
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

I don't count candles for this challenge however I am making an effort to burn those I have before buying more. Still have Christmas fragrances left but not bothered. I am out of us scented tea lights at the mo though.

Ladies I have INs to report but not too bad I don't think. Emma was working until 7.30 last night and usually MRM collects her however he was out. So I arranged to go to the shopping centre (retail park) she works at to buy some new shoes, grab some food and come home together. Unbeknownst tome not all the shops stayed open as long as hers so I couldn't get shoes. Ended up loitering (HD we are talking wandering each aisle) in Boots to kill time. Found myself in front of the Maybelline counter. Offer on buy one get one half price. Swatches all the colour tattoos on my hand and fell in love with the Creme de Nude (I know one of you lovely ladies recommended it). Anyway as it was the end of the day the display was a mess with colours everywhere. I managed to find the last one and as it was on offer also picked up the new falsies mascara. In fairness the YSL Shocking mascara I have been using this week has driven me mad. It's too wet and I've ended up with crispy eyelashes so this will be donated to Emma. I haven't been too bad though have I?

Am keeping clear of QVC today though. It's a Laura Geller TSV and whilst I don't want the kit those gelato illuminators look so pretty.

I'm catching up with my various INs throughout the last month, this isn't an exhaustive list yet...

    IN

15 - Umberto Giannini Glam Hair plump and sexy volume conditioner
16 - Umberto Giannini Glam Hair ditch the dirt volume shampoo
17 - Umberto Giannini Beauty Secrets perfect beauty finishing cream
18 - Body Shop blush in 06 guava to replace the one that has hit pan.
19 - My little beauty energising mist face and body
20 - Givenchy noir couture extreme volume mascara 4g
21 - Pschitt Magique facial peeling spray
22 - my little beauty bubble blush lip and cheek tint
23 - Alpha H liquid gold 100ml - so far I have used this once and it made my skin lighter, brighter and my skin looked like I was wearing flash balm without having touched it, so long may this continue!

    Out

    23 - L'oreal elvive fibrology thickening shampoo 250ml
    24 - L'oreal elivie fibrology thickening conditioner 250ml

I didn't think either of these did very much for my hair but were otherwise fine WMBA.

  • I'm back in for April. Good luck everyone and thanks Gemzie for starting us off.

I only managed 9 UUs in March, compared to 7 INs and I don't really have anything spluttering. It felt like a very slow month; the OUTs were not in my problem areas, but the INs sadly were (there was a 5 for £10 deal in Kiko on lipsticks . . .)

Best IN for March was a metallic Essie nail varnish in Buy me a Cameo, lovely rose gold which took nearly 2 days to chip. I touch type and have quite weak nails, so if I get through 24 hours without major chippage I know it's a keeper.

My 7 for Summer is as follows:
    1. Nivea Cleanser (I have had this for at least 14 years  )
    2. Boots Mango Body Butter 200ml (I find the big tubs v intimidating)
    3. Prestige blusher in Pink (bought this in 2009)
    4. Clinique mini lipstick in Nude Pop (terrible at UU'ing lipsticks)
    5. One eyeshadow from No 7 mini palette
    6. 17 gel effect nail varnish in Long Island (before grey varnish goes out of fashion, I feel it's well on its way, and to compensate for my Essie IN)
    7. Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo (my hair now hates this)

Another UU boots Royal jelly hand and nail cream, it seem a bit watery and wasn't very nourishing so my hands feel quite dry after using this for a couple of weeks. I'll be glad to get another out of the stash that hopefully feels a bit better.

    A UU and an IN/OUT

UU : Kebelo clarifying shampoo. This was a small tube received in my Look Fantastic beauty box. Was ok. Had to use a lot of product on each application to get results. WNBA.

IN/OUT : the VS hair colours still available on clearance at my local Sainsburys. Used this today. 2 more in stash. I really like this colourant and the accompanying conditioner.

Have repainted my nails. Am really us satisfied by the Dear Diary colour. As with a lot of OPI Sheers it applies really streaking. I have used Pink Nail Envy topped with Callin me a Lyre, Dear Diary and finally Leighton Denny Butterfly Wings. Suppose it looks Spring like.
