Pity it's not a real washing machine. Light enough for somebody like him to just pick up and chuck in like that, it'd be straight off over the kitchen floor first time it went onto spin...
Which makes me think it might not be full-size, either.
A real washing machine will go in the back , that's fact.0 -
yes, we had one of the first Smart cars and DD now has one of the new models. Loads of room in the bach, we often used it to move two bales of hay in the mud, weight over rear driving wheels is great.0

Thanks for the responses so far.
The Smart is out then, two other options I might consider are a 1.1 Kia Picanto or a Hyundai i10 1.2. both of around 2010 or slightly newer.
Any views on these versus the Panda in my original question, please.0 -
Fiats always used to have a problem with rust, though I don't know if it's been solved now. My neighbour, who recently turned 80 has a Kia Picanto which he is very pleased with.0

Do not rule out the best little car I ve ever driven by a country mile..Skoda Citigo, everything about this car was superior to the Fiat 500 I used for a week. My company have started using these a year or two ago and they are even better than the Citroen C1 we had before. I got a genuine 60 mpg as well when I tried cruising at 60 mph. It should be reliable enough being a economy version of a VW Up! I was nt aware of only 3 pistons neither, super smooth engine and g/box0 -

picanto alright quite like these but they are a bit archaic underneath
never had a 110 but i always see the earlier ones as wet cardboard boxes with wheels on and dealer parts are dear
if you like the driving position of the panda then it honestly is a good car0 -

The same argument applies, you're buying a 5-6 year old car that you don't know the history of, it's a gamble whether it will last for as long as you continue to drive. While that would also be the case with a new car you would at least be in control of the servicing and how it's used.0 -
My grandmother keeps buying winter coats which she says will "see her out" - but she's on about number 6.
Why would you classify your car as your last? That's so morbid.
Panda, by the way.0 -

I agree - I find it quite upsetting to contemplate my (or anyones) future in that negative way.0
