There must either be some very optimistic mortgage valuation surveyors out there or plenty of cash buyers with zero negotiation skills.

Hard to negotiate when there are 5 people willing to pay the asking

The Lyde Green development is right near the M4. Can be handy if you need to get in and out of the UK or London.

It'll be quicker and a lot easier to get a train from bath than drive to London, pay the congestion charge and very high London parking charges if you're going to central London, but you're right it's very close to the noise of the M4 but not that convenient for a junction.

It might not be that cpbad but it in no way competes with bath.
Depends what you are looking for I guess, but cars in central London are an expensive liability, so you don,t want to drive here. It's not that far from Bridtol parkway.

that flat looks a bit expensive for what it is, despite the views. Crest has new one bedroom flats right in the town for £265k. .....

Is that where those huge gasometers used to be? If it was I seem to remember it was not that close to the centre and on the "wrong" side of the avon

Rugby (cheap and 50 mins to euston)

Travelling from Rubgy to Euston on an annual season ticket isn't exactly cheap though.

I'm selling up and moving to Worthing myself... I can afford a nice house there for not much more than the value of my flat and transport links to London by train are still pretty good.
