I laminated an A4 sheet of plain paper and blu-tacked it to the cupboard. Use a white board pen and rub it off when shopping is ordered.
Easy to write on as things run out.0 -
I use the note pad on my phone.
I'm never more then a foot away from that0 -
We just use old note pads and scrap paper - keep them in the cupboard and whenever something runs out add it to the list. Saves buying a whiteboard and whoever's doing the shop just takes the paper with them.0

Are you thinking of a chinagraph pencil? - also known as a grease pencil. Can be used to write on glass, tiles, plastic etc and wipes off with a damp cloth.:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

I use a free app on my phone called wunderlist. OH and DD both have access. It holds multiple lists - shopping, house to do, homework. DD adds homework with due date and it sorts by date. She just clicks when she has completed the work.
Any of us can add to the shopping list when they realise we need something, then whoever is in the shop checks the up to date list.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

We are Wunderlist fans here too. I have joint shopping, to do lists etc with OH and then personal ones for things I need to do. Wouldn't be without it. Also means that general things (light bulbs etc) can be picked up and checked off so the other knows it's been bought instantly rather than buying duplicates.0 -
I'm going to have to recommend Boogie Boards.
I'm a maths student and this amazing thing has saved so many trees by allowing me to simply 'erase' my workings instead of drowning in a sea of crumpled up paper. Fantastic to have to hand by the telephone aswell and they come in a few different sizes.
I have a swanky (and more expensive) one that saves notes as PDF documents, but probably not necessary for the shopping list so you could get a 8.5" for about £30 on Amazon.
